I was just looking around on ebay for some german shepherd stuff and found a gorgeous painting of what appears to be a schutzhund working line from some time back?? I really have no idea with the old dogs, but do you know who this is? If it's one of the great dogs of old i might have to buy it. lol! The auctioneer said this:
"Up for your viewing and bidding pleasure is a signed, framed and matted, vintage drawing of a very handsome German Shepherd dog entitled FRITZ. Fritz is wearing an elaborate collar and appears to be a dog of some importance. Ver nice detail and coloring. Drawing is signed by Julian ?(fingtan)? I cannot tell what the last name is. I have not removed the back, as it is glued, so I do not know if there is more information on the back of the drawing. Frame measures 17” x 13”, matted to about 11-3/4” x 8-1/2. Wire hanger on back of wood frame. Drawing, matt, glass and frame all in very good condition with no flaws to remark on. Watch my auction site for more antique and vintage goodies including pottery, porcelain and glassware, jewelry, collectibles, paper ephemera, dinnerware, and books, etc. Always an interesting variety with everything from the unusual to the sublime. All items are guaranteed to be in "as described" condition. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Over 10 years of happy customers. Purchases can be combined for substantial postage savings. I have that print and have always wondered about it. I can't read the name of the artist either. I purchased it about 6 years ago at a local antique mall. Mine is not matted and it is in a more elaborate frame. I think I paid around $65 for it if that helps you with your bid.
I hope someone can tell us about Fritz.
