Why won't some people just put a couple short but effective videos on their websiters when they have a dog for a sale. If I am going to spend $3700 for a year old pup, what is the problem with putting up a video showing what the dog can do at it's age in obedience and protection? A seller emailed me back asking if I was still interested. I said I needed to see some video. That was the end of that.
Thanks,
D'man

They might not have access/know how. Either way move on or find someone in the area to check it out for you.

I don't buy a dog from someone I do not know really well without seeing video. Video is easy enough to get these days. Some friend or other will have one. A short clip of certain things is all that is necessary. Or they can put it on their website.
If I know and trust the person I am buying from, and there are really only a few I know and trust to give an accurate eval, then I might forget a video. But that is rare. If someone wants to sell you a one year old for the price you mention, you were best to move on because you were about to be taken. No one year old, regardless of bloodines, is worth that in my opinion.

there is no reason on to post video of a dog for sale. at the very least there should be 60-90 seconds of work where you can clearly see the dog working. personally i wouldnt make a claim w/o video. when sellling adog i always ask what do you want to see. it takes a few minutes to shoot w/ digital camera.
i find it interesting that every ad says the dog is the real deal but very few folks let you judge for yourself

But I know three people who have bought excellent dogs from this place. In any case as you said, if they can't put up a few clips so I can look and discuss with a couple trainers/friends, then I will move on.
Thanks,

3700 for year green dog too much. I wouldn move on. Unless training for exams is started and good apport. Show trials maybe 1000 euro for normal green pup. Videos are good to see what you buy. Most breeders use them now but i know many old breeders that do not. Find a kennel to who you trust much and deal with them. But most of all no 3700 for green dog. Best Regards

Some are just flat out sheisters who are just trying to unload one of their garbage dogs on someone else. I have to see what I'm buying personally. Especially if I am paying several thousand dollars for it. Sellers should not only understand that but also respect that request from the buyer. I'm not computer savy myself and I do not know how to shoot video, edit it and then post it BUT if I were selling a dog I'd make damn sure I found someone who could either do it for me or at least show me how to do it because I know a potential buyer will ask to see video. Besides if I were selling a dog I would not want anyone to come back and tell me later that I misrepresented the dog or sold them something they are not happy with.
No video, No deal! There's plenty of nice dogs out there if you take the time to wait it out for the right one. Passing up a dog that does not have a video may mean you will find exactly what you are looking for if you keep searching breeders who have video available AND you will feel much more comfortable with your decission IMO.
BTW, yes it's too much for a one year old green dog. You can get one already titled for that much.

I think the full service sellers will go through the effort to provide whatever pictures, video, or other sales/promotional information you want. These dogs are offered for more as catering to your wants and desires costs more.
If I were going to spend 3700 for a green dog. My butt would be on a plane and looking for myself. I'll bet I can find 3 dogs with a better pedigree from a reputable breeder for half the cost.

Hi all,
sometimes it is funny to read some threads.
At first let me say, that we allways send a video when we have a dog for sale, our mainpoint is, that we are proud of the dog and his abilities, that we like to show what the dog can do. If the dog has not the quality, we will offer these dog as a pet or only as a companion.
But can you imagine, how many hours you sit in the front of your PC and send video´s arround the world and we are living here in Germany, for our dogs, in the Countryside ( without ISDN or DSL), with an analog connection.(next week we got DSL)
You ever thought about how much money goes, when you are ready to send the vid´s to all the serious!!!!,interesting people.
A lot of people likes to view dog-tv in their computer.
And for a green dog, the question is what is green, with manners, with basic-training in A,B and C, or growed up like a wild animal?, the price between 1500.- and 2000.- Euro is ok for our taste, take 2000 X 1,50= 3000.- $,we think, not the price is the problem, the problem is the changingrate from Euro to US-Dollar.A lot of departments here in germany pay these price for good qualified, drivefull dogs. And do you think about, that some breeders asking 700-750.- Euro for a pup, it is only 250.-Euro more for growing, shots, pre-x-ray and all the other little things. The next point are the shipping costs, every year more high (in the name of the security).
We don´t think that in the States all the people are millionaers, we think all over the world have the humans have to work for their money and their hobbies, and the prices of dogs have to payable. but when i have a low budget, why i like to buy a dog in Germany? You have a lot of really great breeders in the States.
Only our mind, don´t kick us.
Isa and Andreas
