Every time I think of this, I can not help but laugh.
Friends of my Daughters always admired my dog and how well behaved and the great manners he had. I went to thier home one day, and saw the Father and 2 kids at the table with their arms around the plate, face almost into the food and shoveling it in. I am watching this with fasination and could not let it go, so I asked the Mom, why. she pointed to their Golden Retriever sitting near and told me, "if they get to far from the plate, the dog will steal the food". I could not help but laugh out loud and a real belly one. The next time I saw her she told me, they got another dog and this time they bought one already trained and how nice it was. I was over there again within 2 weeks and I saw the family eating again this way, and now 2 dogs waiting to steal the food. I can only hope they never own a GSD...............

Thank you, 1doggie2!
This animal is not a dog and it can hardly be called a pet. And maybe it isn`t very funny. But it`s so touching that I can`t help but share it:

That reminds me of my Mother, she marches to a different drum and is the type that rules were not made for her. We lived in Texas for a few years when I was a kid. We spent a lot of time at the Zoo. They had a Kodiak Bear. The cage around the Bear was off the ground about 9 or 10 inches then you had a walkway with a 3 foot fence seperating the tourists. My Mother would crawl over the fence and tell the bear to go to other side of the cage and he would ramble over there and swing his head back and watch her pour popcorn on to his floor under the cage, when he could see she had poured out all of it he would walk back and eat his popcorn and talk to her while he ate. I can not begin to tell you how many times we were kicked out of that Zoo.
Then in California, Japanese Deer Park, had a moat throught the park where the dolphins would swim. We were thrown out of there to, she got in with them. One of the animal trainers fianally hired her to keep her out of it,. I will bet she was the best cage cleaner they ever had. i was thankful because he also took the time to train my Mom on how to be around the animals and work with some of them. Raising my Mom was not dull.
