It sounds like they just want to get rid of her because they can't get the papers or can't get full registration on her. I thought maybe an Alaskan breeder here might recognize the dog or the owner's email addy. The dog is in Michigan now.

That is sad , that a breeder gets by with that...and it is so common...Yesterday , a board member pm'd me, that he was ticked...Why....A BREEDER HERE IN TEXAS , SOLD HIM A PUP, BORN ON NOV 07, SHIPPED TO HIM AND HE PAID BY MONEY ORDER. BREEDER TOLD HIM PAPERS COULDNT BE SHIPPED ON CRATE, AS THE AIRLINES WOULD NOT GUARANTEE THEM NOT GETTING LOST.....SO TODAY IS JANUARY 30 AND THE BREEDER WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONE NOR THE EMAILS FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS.......
THIS BREEDER IS IN TEXAS....IN SOUR LAKE....BUT TOO FAR FOR ME TO KNOCK ON HER FRONT DOOR.... I TOLD HIM TO SEND THE BREEDER A CERTIFIED LETTER AND HOPE THE RESPONSE IS GOOD....THE LITTER IS AKC REGISTERED, BECAUSE HE CALLED YESTERDAY AND THEY VERIFIED THERE IS A LITTER FROM THAT KENNEL , THAT DOB AND IT IS UP TO HIM TO PUSH FOR HIS PAPERS.....
MAKES ME VERY ANGRY THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO WORRY AND FRET AND GET ULSERS OVER DELAY , WHEN THERE IS NOT NEED FOR IT......
HOW MANY PEOPLE WE HEAR ON THIS SITE HAVE HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN....?
HOW DO YOU GET PAPERS WHEN YOU SHIP A DOG FROM MILES AWAY.????DEAL WITH SOMEONE REPUTABLE...HE THOUGHT SHE WAS,,,IT IS A REPEAT LITTER AND THE LAST LITTER IS ON THE DATA BASE AND IS AKC AND DNA.....SO WE WILL AWAIT THE OUTCOME AND IM SURE HE WILL BE POSTING IF HE DOESNT GET HIS PAPERS....

I don't know of a breeder in Glenallen. It doesn't mean they aren't there, I just don't know of them. Veronica, Worthy Kennels, Anchorage, Alaska.

I should have added...there aren't many GSD breeders in Alaska. I actually SHOULD have heard of them, if they exist there. Perhaps the dog was actually born somewhere else?

I must say that I have never shipped papers with a puppy. With that said, I am a firm believer in the internet system that the AKC has in place. Once all things are in place, people are given the information necessary to register their pup on line and their papers are received within a few days of registering...some even before their pup arrives. People should never have to worry about papers and should be comfortable with the breeder he or she chooses.

Yellowrose I'm not trying to get the breeder in trouble nor am I blaming the breeder. There are many reasons why this person may or may not have papers. I just knew that there were a couple of good breeders on this board that may have bred this pup and be interested in knowing this person is selling one of their dogs for $50. I don't ship papers with pups either and not many people get full registration with them anyway.
I did email her for more info on the dog but haven't heard back yet.

If you dont ship papers, Then I would think the owner gets them in the mail whether they are full or limited...This man has nothing,,,He has not akc number nor any info to register a sable male beautiful pup from a breeder who now is "
poof:" Possibly breeder is out of country, on vacation, in hospital...but left some important business UNDONE.
If i pay for a pup,,I want my papers.....or like spartshep said give me all the info on that paper to register my pup.....
Above just says owner never sent papers......might not have been the breeder,,,, even....
I just happen to have the related story just happening yesterday ,so thought it fitting for all to know....not only in Alaska, right here in our own group of posters......not the first story of no papers....to be posted...buyer must ask for all pertinent info and its a chance you take when shipping..and not picking dog up in person....

To be perfectly honest, I don't much think it matters that the dog is advertised on Craigslist or in a local newspaper. (The classifieds are EXPENSIVE in my area!) Its the actual interviews with the prospective owners that means anything in the process of re-homing a dog. How those prospects are attracted is of lesser importance. The fact that they are selling the dog for so little DOES concern me, as that price wil likely attract a less worthy clientelle. Hopefully they will find her a good loving home.

I received word that she was already sold and was going into training with someone, so hopefully she found a good situation.
