Any and all explanations are welcome:
I have a 5 yeat old spayed bitch., sSzara. Prior to her spaying she produced 1 litter. When kaylee arrived at 3 months of age Szara adopted and treated kaylee was her pup. Everytime my male wouldattempt to play with them , Szara would chase him away, growl at him and just plain run interference.
Now, fast forward..Kaylee is 28 months and whenever Kaylee comes into heat , Szara tries to dominate her by humping . I immedistely put a stop to that as I am the leader here. Hoever she still run interference for kaylee. When kaylee is not in heat, Szara has no issues letter Tango play with her????????????

Aye! Me don't think it be a dominance thin', but a Hormone thin' aye. Me be havin a bunch o' spayed Gyps and some lassys who come in as well aye. When t' intact lassys come in season, t' spayed Gyps will mount them and vice versa Aye. This behavior only occurs when t' lassys be in season Aye!

My 11 year old spayed bitch who had one litter too does the same thing to my younger female when she's in heat. And it's definitely a hormone thing here!

The one reason I spayed Szara was because she would not get pregnant again. I spent alot of money at U of P vet school with the specialists. Finally had to spay her.....Boy her pups were nice!!!!
