Lambriar inc? - Page 1

Hi all! Does anyone know anything about this outfit? I found their site & they are a broker for petshops & the like. The reason i ask is that a friend of mine has a male gsd from them & she is under the impression that this dog is the best that money can buy. He is a good looking dog with a great temperment, but his pedigre is a bit obscure. It's half German with the majority of the dogs being titled, kkl1 w/good hips & the balance is apparently homebred that i can find no info on. I easily found the German lines, but the rest (finleys, noblecroft & claycamp) are nowhere to be found. Now this reeks to me & i would not buy from this outfit but i am curious to hear anyone's opinion concerning lambriar. Thanks again! ~Krystin

I only know that a Lambriar online store has recently changed its name to Lambert Vet Supply http://www.lambertvetsupply.com/

I have found this to be a reliable online outfit for purchasing pet care products and have no idea if it is affilated with a GSD broker.

I think their "philosophy" about says it all.  Note:  If someone wants one of their brokered puppies they will have to contact a "professional pet shop".  Excuse me - I have to go hurl now.

Commercial puppymill.  The entire website is all marketing and spin.

Roger and Darlene Lambert?  Lambert Vet Supply?  That's the first link listed on their "Helpful Links" page?  I'd venture to guess that it's connected. 

I love their "answers" page.  Nothing about titles or testing done on the parent dogs.  No answers to any of the questions that a person would ask of a breeder.  No mention of the fact that no reputable breeder would sell them a used, broken crate, much less one of their puppies. 

And don't forget to check out the "testimonials" page.  This is worth a good laugh.   All signed:  "Pet store owner", city/state.  No names, no first initial, last name.  No "pet store" name.  That should be enough to boycott every pet store in every city/state listed on that page. 

Lambriar has a few extra letters to it's name.  Should be L_ambriar, Inc. 

 

 

 

Fiona is correct here.

This company runs at least one very large commercial puppy mill breeding all types of dogs and selling them to pet stores. Many of the dogs they breed are of obscure parentage, and many produce poor quality pup. If your friend got a healthy dog, with a decent temperament, tell her to count her blessings.

The average pet owner will continue to buy from pet stores, so as long as there are no restrictions on such outfits, they will make money and so will the pet stores, and people like your friend all too often will not get a decent pup.

I honestly have no idea whom you are referring to:

BUT, always, even if it takes a little more effort,
 

check-out the people you are getting a puppy from,

meet them in person, know where they live,
and then if you have any questions, ask away.........................

Can I see Temperament cert. info? 
Can I meet the mom or dad?

Do not ever buy a puppy from a broker or pet shop!!!!!

Just to clarify, I have not and would not buy a pup from this outfit or any other puppy mill.  I brought up the subject as I wanted to confirm my suspicions of this "breeder".  The poor gal I know that bought from them thinks that she has the best bloodlines and the best dog that you can get. 

I have a copy of his pedigree and when I saw the Lambriar logo on it, I thought it was a pedigree research service.  When I googled Lambriar and saw what they really are, I was shocked to say the least.  Absolutely horrified is a better description.  I would even wonder about the correctness of the pedigree?  It is a shame to see good dogs end up in a place like that.  His sire's dam is a daughter of Jasso vom Schwartenzwinger ShcH3, FH and Dalli von der Bosen Nachbarschaft (Timmy x Winni v. d. Nachbarschaft both SchH3/FH) and his dam's sire is out of Ulan and Taiga von der Konigsgarde (Ulan-Kally v. d. Alheady's Hoeve x Kascha v. d. Konigsgarde, Taiga-Gildo v. Wildsteiger Land x Diva v. Palles Athene).
 

They haven't had him x-rayed at this point, so no telling how that would come out.  He is totally upright in the pastern and I think lacking in front and rear angulation, seemed very straight when I saw him.  And not much length of the croup and no slope to speak of.  I don't think he is going to win any conformation shows, but he is a nice dog to be around.  Of course, who knows what the rest of his pedigree is even based in; it doesn't even show the titles and ratings of the German lines, I found those myself as I was curious. 

And in a totally light and un-offended humor, I wouldn't know my father if I saw him today!   Yep, I'm a un-pedigreed mongrel!

That link Louise is very interesting. I suppose anything is possible and perhaps there is a second outfit with that same name. I remember seeing papers for several pet store pups some years back that indeed had come from a Lambriar facility. When I checked it out, this was a large company in Kansas with several hundred dogs, breeding and selling to pet stores around the country....sort of an Andrew Hunte type operation. But there is a group that indeed is a vet supply......so who knows.

Lambriar animal health must be a different outfit?  It states on their site that the parents of the puppies must conform to breed standards or they will not buy from that breeder.  I wonder if they go by the AKC or SV standard when buying their German Shepherds?  Might be fun to ask!
