Got a copy of the hip x-rays on my dog.  My normal vet is out of town.  Vet I dealt with today says mild dysplasia.  He's 13 months old.  Any hope they will get better?  How bad do they look?

Very bad picture   your gonna have to re copy it and repost  cant tell

That's without a doubt the poorest hip xray I've ever seen and it tells me that you need a new vet.  My guess is the dog is OK.

bad exposure, bad positioning. Wait for your regular vet to take the picture.  The dog might be fine. Worst x-ray I have ever seen.

Where do vets like this one get their training? I hate to think how many dogs are considered dysplastic based on a xray like this one.  Shameful..............

You dont take a vets word for it anyway....we can give you an opinion and opinions dont count....we are not radiologists....vets are not either and I have seen and had     many  ,,many a vet say oh  , they look good to me     bull corn......

and tell the client ....oh your dogs ok......yeah right.....maybe and maybe not.....doesnt matter whether the dog is limping or not in pain,,,,,,we do a certified ofa because it is the qualifying factor in whether to continue hard training or to sell a dog, or to breed a dog.....

If you dont like OFA decision,,,you go to a well known hip exray vet , known in the Schutz community and retake the xray and resubmit....you may need to swim or feed a diet for the problem for 6 mos and then resubmit.....all kinds of cynerios.....

that radiograph looks like it is 20 years old and there is a ton of gunk on it!  Try again at a different vet!

Find a vet that knows what he/she is doing. Everything should be 90 degree angles.
