I put one or the other in an offsite commercial kennel. Very easy solution. I pick them up after a weak and all is well.

I give the females chlorophyll liquid or liquicaps. This makes a big difference for my dogs. My boys are pretty good, only reactive when the females are in standing heat. the chorophyll maks the ordor enough so there is no whining in the house.

While I have no intact females of my own, I have 2 males (both studs). They (separately, of course) are generally in the house or fenced, front patio/courtyard. During the day, a visiting bitch stays in my huge, sheltered sideyard. She sleeps crated in my garage during the evening. Weather permitting, she enjoys rides in my van when I am running errands.
Except when the designated male goes to the sideyard for a breeding, the boys are unable to see (or lick the urine of) our "guest". Moreover, the boys do not urinate/defecate in this sideyard. When the bitch is in standing heat and ovulating (verified by progesterone testing), the boys may go slightly off their food.
They don't howl or whine constantly. They may be a bit hyper--but manageable. They are well-trained studs (certainly not lacking in libido) and each appears to trust that "mom" will introduce them to the girls at the right time.
This system has worked well for me for many years. It also keeps the males from being in a state of prolonged, unrelieved sexual excitation--which may lead to prostatitis.
