Has anyone else gotten calls on their dogs for sale from Ears 2 U Kennels?
I just got a phone call from them about a dog I have for sale for a friend of mine named Tank/Tankie. They drilled me about the dog and I told them everything I know about the dog. I see this dog on a daily basis and he is just a sweet sweet boy! I am looking for him a pet/companion home as he is a sensitive dog! He does not need any type of physical correction. I was asking a minimal price of $400 for this sweet boy! This lady called me from this Ears 2 U Kennel and was the most ugly arguementative person I have ever spoken too!! She demanded to know his "hang up" and I tried to tell her that he was just not the kind of dog we wanted for SchH as he was too sensitive! She got quite rude and beligerant with me and was telling me I would only find a home for this dog by advertising him in the newspaper. She wanted to know if he could pass a CGC and I said yes, if you do his obedience he sure could, and she just about came unglued and started to rant about me not doing his basic obedinece! I tried to tell her when we decided he was not a dog we were going to be able to work in SchH and that we just had not done his obedience she all but freaked out!! She said that they raise hearing dogs as well as SchH dogs and his obedience SHOULD BE DONE by now and they start their dogs at 2 months!! Well, good for them!!! It is fact that he has not had any obedience but he is so sweet in the house that we don't feel the need to have to do any formal obedience with him at this point he is a PET! The lady that owns him is a RN and traded him for a puppy out of her own litter! She thought at the time she would raise him and put some AKC titles on him and breed him. Since then she has gotten interested in dogs that are suitable for SchH so her goals have changed and Tank is not suitable for what she wants! He only needs a stern voice for correction, he is not unruley and he is a PET!! If you lightly swat him with a paper or your hand he yelps lightly! Not hardly the kind of dog that can take a stick hit at all!! She then started to rant about how they just paid $4,500 for a dog and got taken! Well, I am not asking but a piddly $400 for Tankie!! I can not believe how rude this lady was~!! She ended up hanging up on me and now won't answer the phone!! I don't know why SHE CALLED ME to tell me what a looser I was?????? I would never talk to someone the way she did me!! It was something crazy like out of the Twilight Zone!!
Anyone else have experience with this Ears 2 U Kennel?

No,
But the relay calls just keep coming & I keep declining them.
Ears 2 U kennel sounds like she only wanted your ear.

this was not a relay call!! It was from a cell phone and I was going to call her back and ask her what in BLAZES did she expect for a $400 pet dog???????
I wonder if they are even valid or just a scam to get dogs?

I dont sell dogs on here. We do doggy daycare for med/large breed dogs.
We train dogs for the hard of hearing only ( not the deaf ). The dogs are then bought by State for the person in need with a voucher or buy private people who then can afford one of these dogs.
We have a LLC & soon to be going "non profit"
We do not sell dogs, never have never will.
If anyone wishes to contact me they may.

Ok. Ignoring the statement that they do "doggy day care for med/large breed dogs", and aside from the fact that I've never heard of the "State" buying dogs for the hearing impared, (s)he states, "We do not sell dogs, never have never will." How can the "State" buy the dogs if they don't sell dogs?
Tons of red flags. Puppy mill? I don't know if "Tank" is neutered or not, but more than likely. Responsible breeder of dogs for the hearing impaired? Hardly. PETA? That's possible, too.
This definitely doesn't pass the "smell" test. It screams of "scam".
You're better off rid of him/her, but I wonder about others who might be taken. (S)he is LLC. I wounder how effective an investigation (possibly prosecution for publishing false information about themselves) would be.

Powerhaus I think you gave that lady 2 minutes too much of your time. lol I don't know what her get up was but it surely doesn't smell right. Ears 2 U kennel....sounds like a very "professional" organization she has there. And she trains dogs in SCH eh?? ROFLMAO! Perhaps she told you that so she could feel on your level; other than that I would have took it as a bad joke. Tankie sounds like a very sweet boy who will make a loving best bud to a family that will appreciate his calmness in the home with or without his formal obedience. Your price is very fair, in fact almost too fair that I'd do extra screening otherwise your bound to get a few more fruitloops calling you for the dog.
How old is Tank anyways? I was talking to a guy we're working with right now on a project who just had to PTS his 16 year old daughter's GSD she's had since she was a little girl and she's quite devastated. He's talking about getting her one once she gets back to her normal self again. I'll mention it to him if you can give me a little more info like his age and if you have any pictures that would be helpful. He might be interested and it might be a good fit.

I would have listened to one or two seconds of her and hung up on her. Not worth the time to worry about people like that.

Wow. And you didn't even have to use a "newspaper".PowerHaus. So much for his/her claims.
Kudos, AgarPhranicniStraze1. I hope it all works out for all of them.

Did you demand to know what HER hang up was, and why she didn't have better manners?

by PowerHaus on 23 January 2008 - 18:01
Agar,
Here is the link for Tankie!

I wonder if that lady has ever titled a dog in SchH? I don't always think it is a good thing to put a lot of obedience on a young puppy so soon!! I wonder if she has ever shown a dog on the national level? I CAN SAY THAT I HAVE!! And I qualified my dog to compete at the DVG Nationals again this year!! So, I don't know who she thinks she is anyway!!!
Anyway, He is a sweet sweet boy and deserves the best home! I am screening all that call or email me. I usually ask what they are looking for and I want a veterinary reference. I want to know why their last dog passed away, do they know about heartworm, if they think it is ok to let a dog ride loose in the back of a truck, all the basic stuff!
Anyway, Tankie is a very sweet boy and even if I have to sell him in the local news paper that is ok too, that way I will know that he is local and I can keep tabs on him too! I am really good friends with the girl that runs German Shepherd rescue here and she calls me to check out dogs for her and to evaluate them so I would know if he went to the shelter or rescue!! You may never know if something happens to your puppies and they end up in a shelter 4 states away!!
Thanks guys!! I needed some reassureance today that I was not such a looser!!! LOL!!
