A lot of times people post asking how to treat a dog who has an emergency.  Can anyone steer me toward a canine first aid website or reference book they trust in for that time immediately following the problem and on the way to the vet?

I think that the American Red Cross has a Pet First Aid course!

Dog Owners Home Veterinary Handbook by James M Giffin,MD & Liisa D. Carlson, DVM.

Absolutly every  dog owner should have this book. It has saved me thousands in vet bills!

It has an index of signs and symptoms right on the front page. It covers so much information it is unreal!
