The other night seen a remarkable show on public television. In the UK they are teaching dogs to detect cancer. Imagine your dog giving you an early waring about cancer Unbelieveable. The dogs were very accurate on the tests shown.
In another segment there was a boy who was getting seizures because of his diabetes. His parents didn't know what to do or when to give him insulin or when his blood sugar was low. He even slept with his parents. They trained a German Shepherd to warn them well before their son would get a seizure and all but eliminated them so their son now leads a normal life before he wouldn't leave the house because he didn't want his friends to see him have a seizure.
We all knew how smart our K-9 friends are but now the research that is going on is just remarkable and the things our dogs are capable of just boggles the mind.

Thanks Larrydee for remarking on the TV program. I saw it too. There are a whole group of interesting dog programs that have been aired on PBS this past week. My dog persistently indicated the location of my tumor which caused me to seek medical attention. Dogs are amazing animals and companions.
