I know that the vast majority of PDB members do sch, SAR, etc., but I know I have seen some that work their dogs in agility. My question is: does anyone know where there are some good agility clubs in the Western Mountain area of Maine ( I am moving to this area as of 2/1)?   I have been training in agility with my boy for over 1 year now, he loves it and so do I. I would hate to "lose" what he's learned. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Feel free to PM if you prefer...

thanks......

I think you might be able to find clubs on www.cleanrun.com or google some of the other agillity lists or just do a google search on agility clubs in Maine

I trained my boy for Agility for about a year and a half and had him ready to title then dropped out because of his SAR work. (I was just to busy).  I then got invited to one of the club agility fun days and decided I wanted to get back into agility. (We had not trained for over a year and Max didnt forget a thing) after a couple of weeks of training we were ready again and entered our first trial where we Q'ed everytime with a first place. In a three day show Max earned his first two titles. My point being these guys dont forget anything.

As far a clubs in Maine have you tried calling AKC? That would be where I would start. I have a friend in Maine, I can get her to try and find a club for you.  Also you could go to a few trials in that area and ask around. Most people try to stay close to home when they enter a show because of high prices of gas, room and food.  Where I am from all the club members try to enter the same shows. Good luck.

Thanks, We are leaving today for a 4 day event in Nashville TN. Max just needs 1 point to earn his OA, OAJ and his VCD2 titles. I'm very excited.

Yup, that's a good idea.. get on the AKC website.. I think they list shows and see if you can find any in your area.... try the USDAA website as well and NADAC or CPE.. there are many flavors of agility nowadays!

My husband goes everywhere and anywhere to trial...... TN, IN, FL... OK in March for the Agility Nationals.....we are in Georgia...... he flew to Oregon...

Once people really get into it, they go everywhere to keep their stats up..his dog is in the top 3 GSD's I believe in AKC stats and doing pretty good in USDAA also.....
