I just saw an ad with a photo of a proud new GSD mom with a litter of brand new whelps.
Is it just me, or does anyone else still marvel at how something so tiny and helpless can grow up to be a fine, strong, proud German Shepherd Dog? Maybe its because I never had children, but even after some 29 litters, I still marvel.

Well Shelley, I'm a Mom and a Grammy and new baby anythings still amaze me. I'm not a breeder so I've never had a litter but years ago I worked at a kennel and was shocked at how tiny even great dane whelps are! Yes, new life still takes my breath away.

Glad I'm not the only one.
An average human baby may grow to 15-20 times its birth weight in 20 yrs.. A GSD whelp may very well grow to 50-100+ times its whelp weight in 2 yrs. Never ceases to amaze me.
