This might be an interesting discussion. How many dogs do you have and would you have more if you could?

We have 7 dogs on 5 acres.  3 of the 7 dogs are seniors, ages 10 to 11.5

The other 4 range from 11 months up to 5 yrs.   If I had more help and more money I'd probably have more, but 7 I can manage comfortably.

7 in residence, ages 16 mos-12 yrs. When my kennel building is finished, I hope to have a total of no more than 12, including retires, seniors, and youngsters. All dogs rotate through the house for quality time in addition to the time we spend training.

Only 2 GSD's - 1 male 6 yrs (Faust) and 1 female 5 yrs (Tia) due to whelp in early March. I want to keep 2 puppies from this litter and am looking at maybe adding a young adult soon.

4 dogs total, 2 GSDs, Drake 1 year and Slate, 10 weeks - 2 Border Terriers, Cooper, 8 and Nell will be 8 on the 28th of this month.  I'd love to have more but they all live in the house and if I did the hair balls would swallow all of us!  I do have plans to remodel a room downstairs and open it to a new fenced area in the lower yard,  The upper yard is already fenced. I'd keep the existing gate between the yards so I can separate if need be.  Also would like to add outdoor kennels in the future. I am already over our limit by ordinance but I also have the biggest piece of propery in our town and since my house is isolated nobody knows, so nobody complains.  We will license the new pup at my husband's business so he's legal but slipping in under the radar

We have 3 GSD's,  11, 6, and almost 3.

If I had the space, I'd probably go as high as 5.  We've been as high as 4 here, actually for most of the past 4 of 5 years, we've had 4.  And we live in a small Cape Cod with a pretty small fenced back yard.  Luckily I do get to take them out a lot!
