I think you are always better off with 2 dogs of the opposite sex. Of course there are exceptions, but it's taking a risk. In my experience, many females will fight to the death and they don't necessarily need to be related.
Breeding is a pain in the butt IMO and placing puppies can be your worst nightmare. When I want a dog now, I buy one and let the breeding to the experts. I like it much better that way .

i believe that when they say "sisters" they mean littermate sisters. since there is going to be a bigger difference in age you won't have as much of a problem right away. but when the pup gets older it will be like any other female/female relationship and can could get touchy as they try to find out which one will be the alpha.

Never buy same sex dogs for partners,,,they will end up one dead and one alive....believe me when they turn three world war 3...
one in a million might have had a pair of males or females without incident.....dont take that chance..you will be on a forever watch and see merry go round.

Above all else make sure that the girl you have now is perfect in odbedience, and there are no correctable behavioral problems BEFORE you get the next. 1 in training is bad enough but 2 is insane... trust me. The adult will just teach the pup how to do everything wrong. But if the adult is perfect, the pup will be easier to handle.

You can own whatever you want if you can control your dogs, imo.....but since I'm assuming this question comes from a novice, get a male instead. It will be much easier for you.
