Get some Vicks Mentholated Salve and spread a small amount on their nose.  Helps to quiet the seal bark cough.. This has always worked for me.  Of course, keep your appt. with the vet.

When my dogs went through kennel cough a few years ago. The vet recommended Robotussen Cough Syrph. They didn't like it and it was messing trying to get it down them, but it did help. My Vet said that kennel cough has to runs it's course and wasn't much else you could do for it. Mine were better in about 1 1/2 weeks.
