A females heat cycle is about 3 weeks long and will occur every 4-6 months. The general rule is the first 7-10 days of her heat cycle she is "coming into" heat. The next 7-10 days she is "receptive". The last 7-10 days she is "going out" of heat. This is the general rule of thumb, as they say. Every female is different.  You will notice drops of blood more so the first part of her heat...then it will appear more of a clearer discharge as she is getting closer to be receptive. As I stated before, each female is different. I hope this helps.
