I use Vertex on all of my dogs and think it is an excellent overall supplement to a good diet. Coats and health are excellent. Your dog will only get "fat" if he is fed too much and not exercised enough.

Yes I use Fastrack also on all my dogs, just a tiny bit once/day, it is a probiotic/enzyme formula, I believe it to be very good for help in digestion and overall gut health of the dogs.

Molly
but you can actually see the result from feeding them with fastrack, with enzyme in it?
I feed my dogs, with olewo, kelp, salmon oil, vitamin E, and I can see result from it, better coat, darker, and reder, but this enzyme distributor have reconmmend me her product for the first time, and I have never use it before,

Fastrack or other probiotic supplement is known and proven to help dogs and other animals (people too) utilize their food better, helps digestion, less waste, firmer stool. It will help the overall health of the dog. No, I'd say it would be hard to see a difference in the coat/skin of the dog that I would directly associate with feeding probios to them - but I do feel it is a good thing to do for overall health and wellbeing.

Most of this supplementation stuff, just like with the human market, is bunk. Animals and people fed a quality food in appropriate amounts do not need vitamins, pro or prebiotics or anything else. Further, if your dog needs such stuff to have a good coat, the first thing one should be asking is why? Does the dog have some sort of malabsorption problem as do so many GSDs? Or is the food inferior and not providing proper nutrients? Or is a given food just not correct for a given dog?
These firms make all kinds of claims that are unsubstantiated and in many cases, outright BS, but if it sounds good, too many people buy into it. It is a billion dollar plus market and growing.
But it is your money.....
