Wow, no one will help you.  Your concept is warped to say the least.

There is more to bitework than getting a dog to bite.  It's a process that begins as PLAY whether it be a sport dog or police dog, that is the proper way to START.  If you are trying to get your PUPPY to bite out of provocation I recommend he get a new owner.

You have alot to learn.

Read this thread and my comment, you remind me of someone who is interested in "attack training".

I really hope you are just mis-informed and not a macho jerk.

If you are just talking about him not wanting to bite a tug, rag or bitepillow (the proper way to start bitework) then either you are not doing it right or your pup does not have enough prey drive for the sport (or whatever the heck you are trying to do).

Regards,

Melanie

Also at 5 months old, he's still a BABY.  If you ARE trying to get a protective or aggressive response out of him...shame on you...let him grow up!

If I somehow mis-interpreted your post I apologize, but this is how you make it sound.

Regards,

Melanie

I'm not sure what you mean.  For what reason do you want your pup to bite.  And as GSDfan said, let the dog grow up too!

Wait till your dog is really hungry. Take a steak and taunt him with it, repeat for about a year and a half. Practice arbitrary acts of machismo. He'll bite.
