I do not like to make issues either, but the ear comments are unbelievable.

Wow, that's entertainment. Did you guys read:
1. East German/ DDR GSDs are not eligible for registration by the German Shepherd Breeding Assoc.
2. The dams ears don't stand, but it's not genetic and they could have had the vet make them stand but they use to have boxers and didn't want to put her through that kind of pain.
3. The pups ears should stand but if they don't your vet can make them stand.
4. All the female pups will be as good for breeding as their bitch is.

just a different perspective........................
this dog obviously has a high percentage of herding dog genetic..........of some kind; possibly collie or whatever. many of you folks are too young to remember the old time farm dogs/farm collies, shepherd dogs or whatever they chose to call them. this dog is very much like the old time farm dogs. those dogs were bred for function and not for beauty alone. those dogs tended flocks of chickens and geese, herded cattle and hogs, welcomed friends and warned off strangers. those dogs walked the kids to school and then came back home to help pa around the farm and kept ma company in the garden. they ate what was thrown out the back door and if the kids pleaded hard enough, the dog was even allowed indoors at night. in short.......these were awesome dogs and did it all. they had great temperaments and sound bodies. most of them had no papers but were a hodge-podge of shepherd dogs, collies, and sometimes a bit of heeler.
i am not just rambling for no reason here. these days, everyone seems to be an authority and believes it their moral duty to point out the "wrongs" of another. these days our dogs have pedigrees and titles and certifications that prove nothing. our dogs are fed 40-60 dollar per bag dog food that is deficient in nutrition. our dogs would never be allowed to walk the kids to school because dogs cannot be at large and most would never find their own way home anyway because they have been trained to folow a track littered with weenies. as far as tending livestock, most of the dogs today would either be afraid of a chicken or try to kill it. where i am going with this........"it is just plain hypocrisy to find fault with everyone elses' dogs simply because they aren't like our own or don't look like something we'd want to own." i am getting really disgusted with all the people who don't seem to have anything better to do with their time than to find fault with pictures in ads on this website or on others. if you don't like the dogs; don't buy them. infact, don't look at them. i've never noticed that the position of a dogs ears has any bearing on its hearing.......after all, that's what ears are for. leave the poor woman in peace.

countryshepherds should visit Shepherd Woman's board...
...where "breed standard" doesn't matter.
There is a reason it's called a German Shepherd Dog. There is a reason that there is a breed standard for the German Shepherd Dog. There is a reason a Poodle is called a Poodle. There is a reason that there is a breed standard for the Poodle. Sans breed standards my neighbors Poodle, or labradoodle, or Jack Russel Terrier, could be called a German Shepherd Dog. Likewise, my German Shepherd Dog could be called any of the above or worse.
Sans breed standards you have the bottom-of-the-barrel likes of countryshepherds above, Shepherd Woman and other ilk like them and the rest of the arrogance and financially driven crowd that breed "their own breed" (i.e. labradoodles, etc.) laughing all the way to the bank.
It's not only unbelievable...it's unconscienable.

Ziegenfarm,
Having grown up on farms in West Nebraska I do see your points. The farm dogs were a working part of the farm and an advantage to the farmer to have around or they were not aroung very long, and yes most of them were Collie, GSD, or any kind of cross you could imagine. It didn't matter as long as they could work.
I don't like this person giving out false information about the genetic issues and trying to pass their dogs off as good examples of the breed. They are not, but someone not familiar with GSD's might think that that this is what a GSD is supposed to be.

i'm not seeing that the woman has blatantly lied about anything. the links she offers for pedigrees are real.......unimpressive for the most part. nothing i would have done, but i don't believe they are lies. much of what she has to offer about the dogs is her opinion.......no different than many other websites. i can't honestly say that anything of what i saw on her site is "misleading." the pics are real. ugly, but real. i know of a number of so called reputable breeders who have used pics of other dogs on their sites, lied about the dog's real breeding and......
just last night i was chatting with a friend in europe who was telling me about this "stud" dog owned by one of the world's top schh competitors whose new "stud" dog has bad elbows, passes on bad elbows and yet he had posted this dog on his website as being clear. tell me what is worse - a woman who knows she has a floppy eared dog and puts pictures of it on the web for everyone to see or a so called reputable breeder who is trying to pass off something that shouldn't be. we have had tons of threads to this affect on this board alone. people are always posting their grievances with one breeder or another.
i wouldn't breed dogs like this woman is doing. i don't like long coats, floppy ears or the dogs' pedigrees. what i am saying is that these dogs of various lineage were obviously bred for something different than what most of us are looking for and that it is not our moral duty to point out wrongs to the rest of the world. i just get disgusted at how hypocritical people are sometimes. the old saying about cleaning your own closet before you clean someone else's holds true in the dog world, too.

What upsets me about the website most is the spreading of ignorance or flat out lies...
It's okay if the ears aren't up by 6 months...
It's not genetic...
They'll just "tape" it like a Boxer's... which she really means "crop" at 6 months old!

Just curious if anyones ever heard of Moc Klinkam of Northwest K-9 ?
Your upset over this ladies site yet there are literally thousands out there like it or worst.
Whats the point?
