For months, Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Director Dianne
Sauve has been pushing a proposed mandatory program would have
required all pet owners to sterilize their pets. Several last-minute
changes were made to help appease opponents, including many local
hobby breeders and veterinarians. County commissioners will discuss
the measure Tuesday. The League of Cities is expected to discuss it
today.

We need phone calls placed to ALL County Commissioners AND the County
Attorney asking that the proposed Palm Beach County Animal Control
ordinance be postponed for first reading until February 5th as there
is not enough time to review all of the revisions since we did not
receive the revisions until three business days prior to the first
Public Hearing on January 15th.

They are feeling the pressure, or they would not be making changes to
the proposal. "No matter how much we give, they fight back even
harder," Sauve said. The bill needs to be killed, not changed.
