we got my son one of those electric razor dirt bikes for christmas...yesterday evening my son was complaining that it was making a noise...i went down to look at it and decided to hop on and ride it around the yard...boss LOVED it.....he follwed me all over the yard, running right along with me..lol, it was pretty funny, when sitting on that bike hes about as tall as i am....my son rides it all over and he has never followed him ..(i wouldnt allow that anyway, that could be dangerous for my son and the dog) but he follows me everywhere sooo....the dirtbike is small and max speed is 14mph, so i would consider it a safe way for an adult (if they are small enough for the bike) to excercise their dog if they don't have time for a walk, or if something is prevent a reg walk.......i also have a four wheeler, and he would prob do the same thing with me on it, but i wouldnt use it for fear of hurting him, or suggest that anyone else do that......it would take the fun out of it anyway, since it is so big (polaris 500).....95% of the fun was from being eye-level with the dog, you could just see and feel his excitement , that i was "running" with him at the same level , the way another dog would...

I'm SO wanting a dog scooter...I figure scootering would be fun. I knew someone with one of those sully's (you sit and the dog pulls) and I had a blast with her dog pulling me all over the place in it. I do other stuff, but out of time for the morning!

Hun I used to do the same on my daughters little 50 and my Suzuki 400. The dogs loved it. I did laps around 260 acres until the dogs dropped. The smaller bike was easier to use as it topped out at about 35 and the dogs tried to race me. The big bike I had to go pretty slow on so it wasn't as fun trying to plod along with the slower dogs..
I no longer live in the country so I take my dogs out to a rural road drop them off and drive about 15-25mph for a couple miles. I stop and let them sniff out bunnies and birds, do their business and they load up in the truck when they are done.

when i was 12 years old i borrowed the neighbor's gsd/collie and trained him to run with my bike (regular pedal bike). that was so much fun, when i got my lab/gsd/husky, years later, i trained her to do the same. she had a faux fleece lined harness and we traveled many many many miles with her running and me on the bike. ever since she died 2 years ago i have missed that so much. all i had to do was grab the harness and she would be on her feet instantly, woo-wooing in that husky way. she so loved to run! i would yell, let's fly, bandit, let's fly! and we did......the vet said wait until spunky is a year old to have her pull. i have been training her by having her in harness on walks, except for this winter, with all this ice on the roads and sidewalks. she hates the halti-collar and ignores the choke. it will be nice when she is 12 months in another month. there are several other people i have seen biking with their dogs in the area. what an awesome mode of transportation. cheaper than driving a car (i don't have a license and i am 28 years old). this city is built on a huge hill and it's fun to pass people who are walking when i am on a bike with dog-power, lol.

yeah, i am too scared to drive. even if i wanted to, right before bandit got sick and died i discovered my bike brakes froze as she was pulling downhill fast. i crashed into the rear windshield of a caravan type vehicle and had to get 3 stitches in my chin. i hit the vehicle, she was leashed on the right side of the bike and didn't hit it so she was fine. it went to court and i was charged around 3 grand, which i could not and did not pay. they said if i didn't pay it i would have my license suspended but i didn't have one anyway, lol. i was in bad accidents as a kid, one that killed my stepmom's mother. most recently, 2 days before christmas, i got a call from richardson, texas to my home in duluth, mn that my mother as a pedestrian (with a cane, she was disabled) was struck by a car and pronounced braindead at the hospital. i was asked to agree to organ donation, which i did. her kidneys and liver saved 3 people, but still, my mother is gone. to me driving a car is just such a huge responsibility. my ex taught me to drive and i had a temp license for a year but it's just too scary for me. the girl who hit my mother is being charged. i don't know how exactly it happened. i am very watchful of and fearful of cars on streets now and think i will just stick with bikes, at least in this lifetime.
