Seems to me the bastard got a faster death deserved considering he took out a K9 officer.
The miserable SOB didn't even attempt to comply with officer commands until it was clear that the officer's weren't playing around with his sorry ass.
It's a crying shame about the dog.

Should have read.... "faster death than deserved...".
by k9sar on 10 January 2008 - 01:01
if you listen closely the k9 officer was screaming....oh F---, what the ,,,,, He later ran to his dog and carried him sobbing to the car. Unfortunatley the dog was dead...I have seen this before in it's entirety. The dog was a big part of the officers family.
I believe his kids were distraught that their dog was not coming home...dam ignorant bad guy!!!

Heartbreak. Sorrow. Inconceivable...

Yes. That was hard to listen to.
And through it all, while the officers are telling the stupid piece of sh!t to put the gun down and advising that they'd send the dog, you can clearly hear him yelling back to the them, taunting them to turn the dog loose and that he'd shoot it.
Stupidity should be painful and that "pain" should last longer than what that P.O.S. suffered. He got off too easy.
He was calling the shots, so to speak. All he had to do was lay the gun down and follow directions. Yep. A real "bad ass" to the end.
He's no loss, that's for damn sure. Never again will he put anyone else in jeopardy or commit another crime.
The dog, and those affected, is another story.

This happens FAR too often. Don't these officers train TOGETHER for scenarios like this?
"I shall punish thy bodies because the more thou sweatest in training, the less thou bleedest in combat."

Well, I was sickened by the whole thing. The man, the dog. We saw a little clip and don't know the whole story. Is the actual story anywhere? I work a cadaver dog, but seeing a video of a real flesh and blood human being dying (and the dog dying) was a bit much for me.

We watch movies all the time of people/animals getting shot, but when you see a "true" video it really makes you sick!
Personally, I would not have sent the dog. The man was pinned down and he already threatened to shoot the dog which is the same as threatening to shoot a police officer. Why take the chance of the K9 getting shot? Shoot the scumbag and be done with it! Poor judgement on the officer to send the dog.
What a waste.
I feel deeply for the handler, his family and fellow officers.

You never send a dog on an armed subject that is contained. The officer should have went away sobbing, it was a BAD deployment and should never happen.
