I searched the messageboard and could not find any answers on how to find a good vet. We have several vets in this area that are not only over priced but seriously neglectful. They are constantly trying to sell you something your dog needs, ie, dog food, tests. One vet over looked my friend's young male gsd who had an undecended testical. The vet had seen this dog several times and never mentioned it to the owner. She took him to another vet for an unrelated problem and they found this. Now she is being charged $500 to have him neutered by this other vet,  plus 2 days hospitalization. This same vet operated on my female to remove a mammory tumor and left one behind, they have "lost" my xrays, forgot to administer a rabies vaccine and other things. I have been given wrong information concerning tests and was berated by another vet for giving my own vaccines. A vet in this area would not examine my dog unless they vaccinated her. He stated the vaccines I give are not verifyable, so therefore, no good. I am at a loss and wondered if anyone can tell me how to find a decent vet that I can trust. What questions should I ask? I also find the tech's can be rude if you ask too many questions. Can anyone assist? Thanks in advance.
