Hi All,
I have been reading the PDB for about a year, but this is my first post. My family and I will be purchasing a GS puppy this spring and we want to begin visiting reputable breeders. Our dog will be an active family companion; lots of hiking, swimming, exercise, with very little time spent alone. Our last shepherd lived a happy 13 years. We are most interested in W. German show lines and only want to visit breeders with the highest health standards, screenings, OFA H&E etc. If anyone has a recommendation in the New England area I would greatly appreciate it. Please feel free to PM me if that is more convenient.

Not exactly New England, but Randy Brent is breeding some very nice show line dogs in Northern VA, and a heck of a nice, helpful guy in the bargain.

You can also get in touch with John Henkel of Wilhendorf kennels in Connecticut. He has the VA 1 USA Teejay von Wilhendorf and other very nice dogs. He's also a great guy!

I did a ton of research for the right breeder. I've been waiting since last July.
I went with this breeder.
I will be getting my pup in a week or two. She has another bitch that is due in mid-March. I don't know if they are reserved or not.

Hi Wookie,
Please contact me privately and I will let you know what I know first hand about several of the kennels that I have encountered over the years of doing GSD Rescue that refuse to take back dogs surrendered to our program as well as dogs I have seen that were owned by friends of mine who breed, compete in various sports, and are working the streets.
