Came across this article from 1989 describing components that make for a good working dog temperment. There is also a temperment test to help evaluate such temperment.

Thanks for posting the link. I have seen this article long ago. It's a nice summary. I know that some folks will take exception to some of his theories, but I think he's sound on the basics. I wish it were more detailed, however, with more illustration of how different dogs behave under stress, or while acting other the different drives.
If you come across another, more detailed article, please do post a link.
