Well, come on, give already!!! Is that good or bad? A neighbor asked me about it and I told her I'd ask around for her. She has a good natured Golden who is in desparate need of manners.

While I am open minded on the use of the ecollar and have used it for some problems, I did see one dog trained on this method and felt that it was very obedient but almost robotic.  That is the only way I can describe it.

I don't know about the rest of the time, I only saw the dog for a short time.  Not much of an observation.  one person one time.  She could go to see dogs trained using this method and judge for herself. 

I think most dogs with a LOT of eCollar training are expected to wear the collar at all times - that may be something she does not want to do.  There are certainly other ways to teach manners. 

I'm familiar with Sit Means Sit. Trialed back in the old NAPD days the same time Fred did. I know some St Means Sit trainers in my area.

As for my opinion, I can't say I really have one. Don't know enough about it. I have only seen one training session.They are about business and you have to pay to learn the system.

What  I can tell you is the dogs I have seen compete that were trained by Tim Smith had outstanding OB, direction, and control in the bite work. As far as pet home OB or any other type of training, I have no  idea. From what I understand the system is almost exlusively e-collar so you would have to be OK with that. The dogs I saw were not fried with the collar or mis-treated in any way.

I have only seen the system used by Fred himself and Tim Smith who was one of Fred's initial diciples so I have only seen it done by the best. The people who originated the system. Sit Means Sit is a franchise with probably 100's of trainers across the country by now. With that many trainers, as always, I am sure their are very good ones as well as those who probably mis-use the collar. I know there was an incident in, Michigan or Illinios I believe, that drew alot of negative attention.

As with any trainer, you must choose wisely.
