Hello all, I'm new and have a question about the purchase of a puppy that pup was advertised here on this site. I have been in contact with the breeder by email since the 22nd. I have made phone calls and left messages but have always received responses by email. A contract was sent, signed and returned to said breeder along with payment through a secure source, PayPal. Arrangements were supposed to be made for delivery of this puppy and I really wanted to speak to her about it. She then emailed me a cell number and told me to call after 7 last night. No answer. I have not been able to contact her by phone at either number or by email since. She stated she had relatives visiting for the holidays who were coming fairly close to us on their return trip home and would meet us to deliver the pup tomorrow. As we were trying to plan for time and travel we really wanted to speak to her and...nothing. Should I panic at this point and file a grievance with PayPal or wait it out to see if we hear from her? I don't want to put the name out there yet but will if this turns out to be a rip-off. Any opinions on what to do would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I believe Paypal has a 30 day policy? I would give it a few more days before you panic. It is the holidays and some people just have better customer service than others :) Good luck and enjoy your new pup!

Tman- Sorry to hear about this happening to you. I would be worried( but that is me) just because there is alot of theives/liars in the dog world. No matter who you speak to their dogs are the best and they will not admitt any flaws. I have firends that just got scammed out of thousands of dollars from oversea's kennels in 2007. I have seen it happening here in the sates more and more and that is sad. People think I am negitive towards my own dogs becasue I find flaws and express them, those people always say how can you degrade your own dog, well I will not lie to myself and beleive I have a great dog if I do not. Just my 2 cents

Should I panic at this point YES!!!!!!! she told me to call after 7 last night. No answer RED FLAG!!! would meet us to deliver the pup tomorrow. looks like she has no plans on meeting you tomorrow. hate to say it.too me, i'd say she got you. contact paypal. see if she collected the money already(she most likely did) it's amazing how we can't put the names of these people and there kennels under crooks and theives to help people avoid being scammed. i hope i am wrong, but just instinct tells me different.

Communication is key in any business dealings. I would be very irratated, and a little worried, too. Hope all turns out well.

I did receive an email stating she left her cell in the car and didn't want to call too late. We just sent another email asking why no phone communication. It's relatives that are delivering the pup but I am concerned about not being able to reach her during a purchase. If there is a problem down the road what are we to expect? At least 8 phone calls, and probably closer to 10 have gone unanswered. It's all been through email. I have asked that she at least return a call, can't understand why not. Thanks for your input.

Maybe she's deaf like me?? Maybe she's too cheap to want to call long-distance? Serioulsly, I would be panicking, too. And to me, someone 'dropping a pup off' is another red flag. A breeder who really cared about their pups would want more personal contact, whether over the phone, or you coming out there to be screened by them before you take the pup home. After all the scams I've read about on this site, I would NEVER NEVER buy a pup without seeing it, and the breeder's kennel in person. I'd want to meet the sire and dam if possible, too.

Well, maybe not go into a full panic until after tomorrow! And paypal does have that 30 day thing, so you can get your money back. Hopefully all will work out for you.
