Hey there everyone... I have been a proud Breeder/Owner/German Shepherd Lover and messageboard visiter for a long time now. I respect alot of your opinions and the advice is always informative, honest and for the most part fair. Here is my dilema... About two years ago this strange woman appeared on my doorstep with this crazy story about her husband dying in an auto accident and her son being in the hospital and not being able to care for their dogs... She had just aquired this female pup (F Genga Von Haus Cimmerian) and couldnt keep her. She gave me the papers to her and said someone had told her I would provide the dog with a great home and she asked for a pup one day if I ever bred her. Crazy eh?? Lots and Lots of homework later I realized that this dog had some really nice Lines... I wouild love to know more (lots) more about this dog and her background and lineage. A year later I bought a dog on a whim because he looked hideous for $100.00. Elite Tactical K-9 Mace. His grandfather is Congo Vikar and he also has alot of Pohranicni Straze Lines in his lineage. I am trying to find out more on his sire (War Van Den Heuvel) and dam (Dakota Von Armierung Haus). If anyone has any information or advice on how to find out more about these dogs it would be great!! Have you heard of their lines and I have thought about breeding the pair. I need to know more about them first though. Thanks in advance for your help... Shannan :)

My experience is limited to west german lines, so I can't help you with the genetics, but I know there are people here who can. Are you currently involved in the breed on any level, SchH club, anything? I assume of course these dogs are HD/ED free. Before anyone here roasts you and eats you for dinner...let me just throw out there that we were all newbies at some point. This person is asking about compatible genetics, information, and education, and that's a good start. Hopefully some people here are kind enough to give you the information you seek.

Shannan: If you haven't already done so, you should contact the breeder, Haus Cimmerian, for more info on your female... http://cimmeriangermanshepherds.com/contact.htm I'm sure others here will be able to help you with your other questions. There are some *very* knowledgeable people here who are willing to help us learn and benefit from their experience and expertise.

Ah yes.. The chewed up and spit out feeling... been there, done that. Just do not have the right information on this pair and am looking for help... Both are over two and have been certified for Hips (OFA), Eyes (CERF), and Elbows (OFEL), as well as Microchipped AND (sigh) Congenital Cardiac tested and cleared. I have also had samples sent into Michigan State Veterinary Clinic to be tested for genetic compatibility. I have never had a pair with this potential for breeding and want to treat the bloodline with respect and knowlege. We all know you dont just BREED dogs.... I have only bred a West German/Czech pair for St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Companion animals through local Behavioral Health Departments, Therapy Dogs International and Seizure Detection. My start was being a helper for a trainer and Schutzhund fanatic who resides in Germany and lives part time in Villa Rica, GA. He fostered his love of the breed in me by selling me a SCHH1 Black Sable Female he imported from Germany. I was hooked after that and want to title Mace in Tracking. Possibly even Search and Rescue. I am looking for a more detailed picture of the history and backgroung of these two dogs.... Chew me up and spit me out if you like, What does it take to make a friend here?? Shannan :)

Ah Yes... I have spoken to Chip Weiss... Cimmerian Shepherds. Unfortunately he wasn't all to willing to share much information at all about this dog and wasn't too happy I even had her. Apparently the woman who gave her to me is fairly close to him. She has aquired many dogs from him. She is of no help either... Very nice, but her stories change like a two year old changes clothes (ALOT!).

I didn't know that Mich. State did genetic testing like that... something I will have to look in to. I see that your boy is AKC registered but you did not fill in his pedigree on this site. There are a lot of folks here who are familiar with the DDR and Czech lines, but it would help if we had his ancestry as far back as you know... we may recognize some names. Others moreso than me as I'm not very familiar with Czech lines. From what you've given me, I know nothing of your male. Your female seems lovely and hopefully has a great temperment to match her looks. If your males pedigree is not up to par, you may consider finding a different stud for her. How did you come about him? Not chewing you up... but maybe nibbling ;)

My own knowledge is limited to some of the west german lines, so I'm not much help. It sounds like you are getting all the required tests done on your dogs, so I don't think anyone will be hard on you. Hopefully your dogs are titled or working towards titles? I noticed on the ad this is the 2nd litter for this pair. How did the pups from their first litter turn out?

Here is what I could find on GSDDAT.com Photobucket

Sorry I meant GSDDATA.com. These are supposed to great working lines
