2 boys, 2 girls, happy and healthy. Let me ask the experienced breeders- does the joy, the nerves or the adrenaline rush ever go away? Do you ever stop grinning like an idiot when you get to see a great dog you've produced?
Lets stop the drama for the holidays and share the warm fuzzy feeling only puppy breath can bring. =)

Congrats. No. It never goes away, not if you keep your breeding program small enough. If you can, take some pictures of them and post them.
Keep grinning like an idiot, enjoy this time.

If the wonder ever goes away you know it's time to stop breeding. I have two 6 week old puppies and I'm still smiling.

gsdlvr- I pride myself on a small program, home raised, h.o.t. dogs that I know as well as I know my own children. It's been a long, rough road full of bad luck and constant setbacks, but it's worth it. :)

Ah-know it too well. The bitch jumps in your bed about 1:00am and starts pawing you and leaking water. Yuck-that will get you out of bed quickly. "Hupp!" her into the whelping box and sit in the chair. The joy and adrenaline rush is there as finally the first puppy pokes his head out and scowls at the world. And much later you are glad that you are so tired and sleep deprived that your skull is numb when it strikes the floor after you doze off and fall from the chair.
But, all-in-all there is nothing as joyful as a successful whelp. My sincere congratulations!
Regards,
Bob-O

KCzaja.....who is the "sire" of this litter?
I'm already familiar with the mother.
Congrats on a successful delivery!

Yacco Vallendarer hohe. If you recall his bitework at the NASS, and remember my girl in her heydey, then you know how excited I am about their prospective working ability. :)
Btw, I liked my Drago grandbabies very much last year!

I only saw a few dogs this year.....sorry.....I have to rely on my husband's assessment on the dogs.
Is Yacco the young dog that the "Blank's" had staying at their kennels???
"Santo" is doing well as a stud dog...I hear! CONGRATS!
Drago is "retired" now.....he just loves the girls and the couch!
Best of luck to you and your puppies!

I just looked the sire up, and he's GORGEOUS!! I can't believe he's only rated SG! (Maybe that will change, he's still young...)
Congratulations on the litter!
Here's the link for the sire:
