This is not my department but our jurisdiction falls within both the city and county. I did not know this deputy, but we work from time to time with the gang unit. I was 2 miles away when this happened. Unfortunately we didn't get him last night, but they got him this morning. http://www.news10.net/display_story.aspx?storyid=36502

It saddens me to hear of one more violent act in this country....Im not prejudiced,,but we have a problem in our America with illegals, and gangs that are made up of foreign descent gang members , who are either illegally here or are here from the year that the great Clinton and Gore , demanded 32, 000 illegal hoodlums be immediately given citizenship, thru the INS and threatened , Doris, the head of this dept . to hide the records of all the criminal backgrounds and get them thru by AUGUST 31 SO THEY COULD VOTE..... she resigned after this incident...and who knows where she is..problably ushered out of the country on a boat with a high mark on her head.... Our borders and laws in this country need to be tightened immediately, and quit all this hanky panky dance around judicial niceness , and kick the ACLU out of business....and Americans stand up for law and order....I talked to ss yesterday about my upcoming uh huh...and the man on the phone, that we Americans havaent got a clue what is fixing to happen here in the good ole USA....Mandatory Health ins and if your a ss drawer,,,it gets taken out whether you like it or not...and if you cant afford medicare ,,you are penalized later for every day you dont draw it, if you want it later......same with the ss med part D.... If a certain female gets in office ,,,she already states,,,,government control on everyone whether you like it or not.......not this ole girl... Judges need to be new and we need a whole new congress.....the man I was talking to hinted that by saying we need a case of "SCOURS" TO INFECT THE CONGRESS...... read between the lines..... My condolenses to the family and to the hearts of all LEO....stand firm and fight for our freedoms of speech and law be inforced and write a letter to your congress man or lady and lets voice .....

This is sure validation the work these gang units are doing is extremely dangerous but at the same time, so incredibly important. The kid that killed him was a 16 year old validated gang member. 16 years old. Our system is f'ed up and as usual we expect the police force to do the dirty work and clean up the mess. My sincere condolences to the officers' friends and family.

Gangs have been around since the 50s and are made up of as many if not more people whos parents were born here too. You can't blame everything on illeagal aliens, though you may try.

Anyway, this is an article about a fallen officer, and out of respect for the officer, that is what it should remain to be about, so I appologize for taking part in making it about something else. I feel so badly for the officers family, words can not express.

Our deepest sympathy to family, friends, Department and community. A loss like this is terrible anytime, but seems even more senseless at this time of the year.
