I am looking for a female GSD that is not High Drive. That is bred to be calm, gentle, and non aggressive. I had a 19 month old male GSD that has all the above qualities. He is my Balance and Support Service dog. I got him when he was about 8 weeks old and have trained him myself. He has been riding on the bus with me and going everywhere with me since he was 7 months old. I couldn't ask for a dog with a better temperment. He loves children of any age and love to play with them. I don't know how he knows, but he is very gentle with the little ones and loves to play rough with the older teenage boys in the neighborhood. He is not at all nervous. I live in a apartment complex and everybody knows him. He also knows when I put his harness on him he's working and he has a no nonsense attitude. What are my changes of getting a female for a companion for him. All the dogs I see available on this sight seem to be high drive, working dogs. I am looking for the old fashioned, calm, farm dog type like my boy.

Jasw1701 Not all the dogs on this site are high drive, working dogs. Most of the ads on this site are BS. Their wouldn't chase a ball if it was strapped to their muzzle. Most of the dogs advertised on here would hide under the bed if someone released gas, they have such bad nerve. The best thing to do is go see some dogs and their litters. Why doesn't someone start a service where all the shitter dogs go to loving homes. This would be great for anyone that is looking for a pet. It would also help out those that need to place their washouts.

The only companion your dog needs is you. Dogs don't require friends of the opposite sex to be happy.

Yes it does, sue! Yes it does! I myself just joined recently. Been a fan for a long time, but finally decided to spread my wings and converse with all the nice people on this board.
