Looking for the thoughts of those that are familiar with GSD genetics. Who do you think are the best
working line producers in the last 10 years as far as producing quality competition dogs, confirmation and health?
Not asking for any particular reason. Just researching bloodlines.
Thanks

When I research lines, I'll go to the list of BSP winners and high placing dogs and look at what lines they came out of and who they crossed well with. I personally focus more on the motherline.

Forgot to add that I also look at hip production as well as how good their offspring are on the field. That narrows down the field a bit.

So I have two names so far that someone thinks are among the best working line producers in the last decade...
Asko von der Lutter
Tom van 't Leefdaalhof
Remember now, we're talking proven producers and they don't just have to be males.
Proven history of producing;
Quality competition dogs - Dog's that have proven themselves on the field
confirmation - Dog's that are fairly close to the standard SG and above
health - Low incidence of HD and other various health faults
Anymore?

And make sure... they are not CHANCE dogs... Like ONE in a litter... and achievement was never recreated by the progeny... makes you think the TRAINING was all to blame and not the make-up of the dog...
Probably the best example was the LIERBERG bros...

I mean... The Lierberg dogs is one good example... and so is Enno Antreffal and Drigon Furmanshoff and Greif zum Lanthal... They were LINEBRED dogs and not OUT-crosses...

If you take working, hips, and conformation, then Aly Vordinsteinwald has produced a very high degree of all three. Therefore, I think he has to be considered a top producer because all of them things make up a good dog.

as for one of the greatest producing females i'd say:
Afra vom Stoppenberger Land the foundation bitch of the karthago breeding program.
