My Friend purchased a GSD 17 month ago for show and breeding, she paid $400 with a postal money order and still owes $465 on the dog. As it turnes out this dog has Pink lips, bad Ellbows ( cowhawked front legs ) and incorrect earsettings, this was told to her by a judge after my friend ask and he answered her ? My friend is not willing to pay the rest of the money owed. Bad ellbows certified by X-Rays. The Breeder told her to stud the dog out so she could pay her but my friend said no that this dog is not good for stud. So now the breeder send her treatning and insulting e-mails that she will take her to court for breech of contract and repo the dog. To top it of the breeder accuses my friend that she had send her a faked Mo. We have the proof copie of cashed MO by the breeder. We also have pictures of the dogs pink lips Ears and bad front. If anyone would like to see the pic to help her out with the options she has please e-mail me for the pictures. This is only a small detailed version of this mess. What kind of breeder is this person? Thank you

This sounds pretty bad but the first question would be, is anything in writing and what does the contract actually say? Sounds like a pretty poor breeder if they are suggesting breeding out a defective animal.

I think I would have seen a picture of the dog I was buying before paying $400?

send the dog back and get a refund for what you paid for the dog ($400), or pay the rest. If you want to keep the dog you have to pay for it. $865 is a pet-quality price, that's apparently what the dog is. Pet-quality. If you want to keep the dog then you have to pay for it, or convince the breeder that the dog is only worth $400 with the bad elbows (send her the x-rays/OFA report/vet statement). Communication is the key - complaining about it won't get you anywhere. Speak with the breeder and work it out. molly

as molly suggested, people need to do their homework ahead of time. look at breeders who offer solid guarantees....yes, they charge more - and should. good breeders are not going to ship something that is going to end up costing them money or another pup in the long run. good breeders know what they have, check the pups out thoroughly and make the buyer aware of any potential problems. good breeders are just plain honest. no other word for it. if they aren't honest, then they don't qualify as a good breeder. i'm not trying to be mean, but it sounds like someone was trying to get something for a song, but ended up with exactly what they paid for.....then didn't like it. pjp

I agree with Molly too. If the problems you are seeing in the dog were not guaranteed in writing to be different, then your friend should either return the dog or pay for him. I don't know hardly anything about show quality, but the ones I have seen advertised as promising or show quality seem to go for a lot more than $865.00 these days. It does suck for sure that the breeders answer was for her to recoup $$ by studding the dog out.

Wow, where do I get myself a show/breeding quality stud male for under $900?

Sounds to me like your friend didn't do 1 drop of their homework and allowed themselves to be taken by one of the many poor breeders that deluge the gene pool with crappy dogs.

May I suggest before you take any action, neuter the dog. Please.
