Doesnt matter, just curious to know more about others here. Im working on acquisition on a GSD pup, & "joining the club" again after a long hiatus..

not sure, but are you asking for a show of hands whether we have workingline or showline dogs? god, i hope this doesn't turn into another work vs show bashing thread. (rolleyes) as i have said before.......we enjoy both at our house. pjp

If you're interested in doing Schutzhund or any kind of working dog sports... I would recommend a working line dog over a show line.

LOL I know, I had a pic of clapping hands that says, "Thank You Captain Obvious". Would have hit the spot beautifully!

I agree-it depends on what your overall goal you want to try to achieve is before deciding what type of lines to go with. Show lines seem to typically be more mild in drive & flashier in overall looks, and drives increase depending on the type of working lines breeding (WGR working lines, East German DDR lines, Czech, etc). There are some very nice handsome working lines GSDs, too, by the way. They've ALL got their respectable place in the overall picture of things. They're all nice in different respects. Finding a good reputable breeder to get your 'ideal' puppy is terribly important. A nicely bred GSD who can work is a sight to behold irregardless of type of lines they are from in my opinion.
