Maybe a golden GSD?

I have seen LH GSDs like that come from litters or breeders where they breed white GSDs....  Maybe something like that?

No, that is the smooth coated komondor.

It's a buff GSD. And yes, they do get that coat colour as a result of white genes in the DNA. It's not at all related to the long coat gene.

Looks like a fawn Belgian Tervuren.

This looks like a typical A^y golden sable (as in the fawn Belgian Shepherd) and there have been quite a few photos of genuine looking GSDs of this colour posted on this forum.  Problem is, it's inherited as a dominant to all other A locus patterns so it shouldn't be possible to get this type of sable from normal coloured GSD parents.

GSDs of other less common colours, like white and dominant black, could 'carry' golden sable without showing it, but the chances of it remaining unseen for many generations are pretty slim, so where it's come from is a bit of a mystery :)  Would be interesting to see photos of this ones parents.

And no, not related to coat length in any way, nor to the 'white gene.'  White can actually hide any of the GSD colours.

Pod is correct and this dog is also a blue.

My vote is blue Ay fawn.... 

I know of several breeders who breed for these dogs. From what I've read, you can get Ay dogs when you breed a blue carrier and a liver carrier together.
