Let's say SANTA was very good to you this year and gave you some SERIOUS $$$$ for an IMPORTED titled showline dog!!!!!!!! The only stipulation is that you had to buy the dog from any well known kennel in the USA. .Who would you buy the dog from and why would you choose that Kennel? .Which USA Kennels have imported and sold the highest placing dogs in recent USA or WDA Sieger shows? .Which dogs have they actually sold that made the VA Positions? It seems that "top dogs" are often imported for the kennel owner then campaigned or co_owned by the importer.

Wilhendorf or Mittelwest kennels both hold either firt or second place in the Kennel groups each year and have some of the greater number of dogs high quality in many Sieger Shows.

There are 5 breeders that have imported good German VA, High V, and high SG dogs from Germany. They have also imported dogs that were VA in other countries and some went VA in this country. These breeders have excellent connections and have a proven track record. There are many that import dogs with 'issues', some with high placings, but not really quality dogs. Dogs that look good, sound good, but are going no where in Germany and just as far when they get here. There are many, many others that are simply clueless and import who knows what. Read about them here on PDB. Here's a couple things you may want to keep in the back of your mind: The dog that never did well because of "Politics" in Germany, probably can't go VA anywhere else as the judges that award VA are usually from Germany. If it's a great female that's bred to a VA male and for sale confirmed pregnant. It's probably not really a good dog or else the owner would want to have the litter. The best way to sell a 2,000 female for 7,000 is to convince someone they will get their money back with the litter the female is about to have. Anyone that suggests politics will be a factor in the deal is probably a crook. If the deal seems too good to be true. It probably is.

Well: I must be on the naughty list cause if the Claus man made me buy a show line dog i,d rather have the lump of coal and bundle of switch,s

Dog1, Who are these 5 breeders?

Lets take this a step further when it comes to the list: What does it mean to be a top kennel / breeder in the USA? Surely you must have dogs / puppies from your kennel that bare your kennel name that are shown, trained and competed in multiple events here in the USA year round. In my book, you are not considered a top kennel / breeder if you don’t produce and promote your own. To simply have the money to import, inflate the price and resell a top dog, does not make a person a “top kennel or breeder” it makes you a BROKER who is simply and obviously incapable of breeding, showing and training your own quality dogs and puppies. Perhaps the topic should read "Brokers in the USA who have sold the best import showline adults" or how about "Top kennels in the USA who have produced the best showlines" Me thinks me knows the motive behind this thread!!!

Kuehnhaus, Kirchenwald would also be on my short list because they know what they are doing, are very personable and dedicated and you see them at every show including in Germany. They are not as large as the others mentioned above but they develop their own progeny seriously. I would assume that like many other smaller kennels, the problem lies in finding the right owners that are equally as dedicated and prepared to develop the offspring. At the Siegershows, you see so many beautiful progeny in the puppy classes. One cannot help but ask why one never sees them again eventually in the working classes.
