A very attractive, well proportioned young dog with good angles, and good pigment. It's hard to get a GSD that looks this good. Congratulations.

Well, thank you so much for saying that! We picked him out of very good lines, we had first pick male - 7 weeks old. Then, weeks went by and then months, and his other testicle never dropped. So, he is a neutered boy, very protective, very sweet and playful. We were completely in love with him, so there was no chance of us giving him back. Here is his pedigree: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/470542.html Thanks again :) Melissa

hi melissa....

nice looking boy you got there!!!     pretty good with camcorder tooo....after all these years,  i  still  cant  camcord--average 5th grader could do better..lol......add some rugs for better traction, so he can really "get that CUZ""......like his calm/quiet temperment as it appears in video...what is his pedigree///who was the breeder???......do you participate in Sch or any AKC  with him?....i would...if even to just  to show that handsome boy; off!!!!!....definately a keeper & one to be proud of...congrats!

Hi Mellissa,

Super video  and good looking dog, shame he was not entire, still he sure looks like he gives you lots of pleasure anyway and that's what it's really all about. At the end of the day it's those times they made you smile you remember most.

Oh, and that squeeky toy looks superb, my female loves squeeky toys but couldnt leave her with it because she would have killed the squeek within minutes. The ones we have in the UK are rubbish compared with the look of that Cuz.

Went in search of them on the net today but could only find them on American sites and in dollars, so doubt if they would ship one to me and doubtless it would cost a fortune in postage if they would. Just have to keep fingers crossed that some UK Supplier finds out about them quickly and ships some over enbloc.

Hows about it Canine Leathers? You know I'm a good customer!!

Regards

Sue

Sue, pm me your address and I'll send you a couple of them! Lucy, here is his pedigree: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/470542.html We have not yet gotten him into Schutzhund. Here is why... Ben was an immature puppy. He was perfect when we picked him up, but the next day, when we went out into public, he was totally afraid of strangers. We were pretty new to the sport, I grew up with a GSD - but that was years ago, so we figured it was something he would grow out of. Well, it got worse. I'm not sure how... we did everything right, I thought. In public, he became much better, but at home, if someone came to the door, it was all we could do to keep him from killing people. It's sometimes hard to explain. He is the most affectionate, sweetest dog I've ever known. But, he's distrustful of strangers. Just in the past 6 months, we've been able to let people in our house without worrying for their safety. We have since realized that if we don't put up with his BS, he wont give us any. So, in public, he has always been sweet, but he would NEVER play with a stranger. You could pet him, your kids could climb on him, but he would not play with you. No tug of war, ball playing, nothing. My husband and I would be at the park playing ball with him, people would come up to us and he would run to us and sit. They could pet him - but he would not play. We have been going to dog parks for quite some time now, and he's crazy about other dogs! He will let strangers throw balls for him, but he will not play any kind of tug of war games or teasing games - like hiding the toy or whatever. He's not aggressive toward people at all, but he will just sit and watch them until they are ready to throw the ball or something. Now, he is just so wonderful as he ages. He's 19 months and if people come to the door he sits and waits, I let them in, then introduce him to them. He's very polite and sweet, letting anyone pet him. He's a kisser. But, he's still suspicious. He doesn't ever leave me alone with anyone in the house that he doesn't know. We are moving to Madison, WI, and we will look into Schutzhund there. He's so darn high drive, I would love to do something like that with him. If he got to know a handler first, he would be able to play with them. I'm going to upload another video of him tonight playing in the snow with the frisbee. :) Thanks!

melissa

he's got some nice lines...hips good in last few generations....hopefully his will be too on x-ray....best to keep him socialized as much as you can...AKC clubs have lots of things for you two  to do,  as in obdience, tracking , agility & rally sport etc. to keep him social & have "fun"...

I,m still searching for my sable female & there is  no SCH clubs near....which actually works out , for i have decided i'd rather do AKC events , perhaps check into SAR etc & pursue what the GSD was bred to do//be.....versatile  & working.....IMO  of course.......

best of luck in WI........*******DEE********

Melissa, I know you want a dog to be nice and friendly, but I wish I had a dog like that. I never want my dogs playing with anyone but me. He seems perfect now that he's ok in public.
