Ho ho hello to all.

I've been looking thru doggie magazines and trying to decide on just the RIGHT gifts for my girls this year and must say, I'm having a heck of a time.  I want to see them "jump" for joy when they open their gifts.

So, I'm coming to the good ole trusty board to see what my fellow gsd parents are putting under the tree for their "kids".

All ideas are welcome!

The Little Princess will get new sqeakie toys for training reward.   Big Baby Dog may get a new bed for his crate.  Ours are so spoiled year round it's hard to come up with something special at Christmas.

animules.

And therein lies my problem.  I'm having a hugely difficult time finding anything they do not get on a regular basis or, eghad!...something they will not quickly destroy.  All I can think of is a good t-bone steak, raw of course!

I was pondering new beds for the kids, plus some nice chewies.  They are master destuffers and desqueekers and toys, so those really do not pay.  However, the extra heavy duty ones tend to fair a bit better.

My dogs are getting brand new indoor/outdoor runs.  I am buying a new house and escrow closes right after xmas. (hopefully)  So I am getting rid of my old Cyclone runs and buying a brand new set up.  They dont know yet, so nobody tell...

I hope they are as excited as I am..

Mine are getting bison knuckle bones and a couple of toys.

For my big boy, a new super soft large teddie bear (hey, he likes to snuggle a toy when he sleeps)

For my girl, one of those Kong Snugga Wubba toys.  She likes things she can carry around and shake, especially if they have bits that will flap back and forth

Then they'll both get new dog beds.

Does anyone else's dog like to unwrap their gifts?  My male loves to open his own gifts.  It started about 6 years ago when we were doing a pet therapy visit at a nursing home.  One of the residents got him a present and showed him how to open it.  Ever since he's been all about unwrapping the gifts.  He's not nearly as interested in it if it's not wrapped.  Both of mine, also, like emptying their christmas stockings.

Well, let's see...since we have hardwood floors I USED to have throw rugs here and there and of course at least one doggie pillow/bed in every room.  But since the giant muncher has entered our lives we have no rugs left that aren't shredded (he pulls each loop out individually and spits them all over the floor) and almost every pillow/bed has a zipper that is broken because it SO MUCH FUN to chew them off! He has about 10 large balls, most of which are frozen to the yard, rope toys that are basically icicle missiles that he tosses at the windows and to top it all off he is now jumping up on the patio table (stowed in the corner with all outdoor furniture piled up) to look in the window (actually this antic was quite funny, I was coming down the hall and there he was, staring at me through the window higher than eye level)!  So, since my options are limited and coal is plentiful in Pennsylvania, I figured he can dig it up for himself and I'll put it under the tree!
