Well, I couldn't decide on what I wanted for Christmas. Now I have NO choice, lol. We have been leaving the 4 dogs out of their crates while we are gone at work etc. to show them that we trust them! Well, lol, the trust is gone! We came home from work on Friday afternoon to find out couch destroyed! Chaos and Bree, my white shepherd, had a ball while we are gone! Hubby wanted to take them both out and shoot them! I talked him out of that and made him understand that it was our fault for trusting them to be out of their crates while we are gone, and we didn't catch them in the act, so they basically have NO idea what in the hell we would be scolding them for!!!! He finally agreed. I did thank the dogs for making it so that we have to buy a new couch though, lol. Any of your dogs ever do anything like this? I know they can't be the only ones, lol. Any way, my computer is down at home right now. Should be back up and running in a day or so, hopefully. I'm doing this at work and I'll check back later. Merry Christmastime all.......

Great! Now all you have to do is spread peanutbutter all over the dining room table too. Hell, why not do the entire house and claim it on your homeowners?

There should be pictures! Don't tell me you didn't get any, that would be a shame. If you're gonna lose a piece of furniture it should at least be caught on film to be laughed about for years to come. Merry Christmas to you!

Oh for pete's sake SW...do like we have to do...DUCT TAPE! If your couch is leather like ours you can make some really interesting patterns. I find the black makes a nice contrast with butternut.

I once had a Yorkie pup that I had fenced in our large kitchen (with baby gates). Came home and "Peanut" met me at the door. There were cute little packages left in very clever places, the dining room chair legs looked like a beaver got hold of them...sofa cusions were torn to shreds and he had wee'd on our bed (we had little steps for him to get up at night).
He had chewed his way thru the gate!
And all this damage was by one itsy, bitsy, 2 lb puppy!! I wasn't so lucky SW. I had to live with my chairs for a very long time afterwards...my punishment.

4 dogs left inside and you expected all was well? Ha Ha Ha. I'm affraid to leave my 1 alone inside just to grab something out of my car. He will plow through anything, what's a single paned window? I have already lost a decorative pillow off my bed and that was with 2 adults inside with the dog.
(note to self) men are not to be trusted watching kids or puppies!

My Theo tries to eat Seymour (the cat) when I not looking, and as
soon as I notice what he's doing, he quickly turns away, like, he
wasn't doing anything!!!
They know what they're up to!
OH NO!! He finally did it, he ate Seymour's head!!!

This problem is easily correctable. I suggest this simple German routine to stop unwanted chewing of furniture.
You need to eat the following for 3 days:
4 leafy bunches of German celery
Soak in 1/2 cup vinegar & 1 cup of sweet buttermilk overnight.
Consume the celery as a meal, 3 x per day, for 3 days.
On the 4th day, early morning, take a giant dump on your furniture and let it sit for the day. This allows the odor & pheromones from you and the German celery to permeate the fibers. At the end of the day, clean up the dung nuggets you left and hand wash any soily stains.
From this point on, the dogs will not interfere with your furniture. Trust me, they wont interfere with YOU either.
Be warned however, you start sleeping on the couch more & more...

Several years ago Murphy ran into a $4000 pair of speakers I was reviewing, launching them halfway across the room and into the fireplace. Ruined the speaker cabinet and cracked the glass doors on the fireplace. Needless to say I bought myself a pair of speakers for Christmas that year :(

This is why I built kennels in the basement.
