Hi all,

Some may know me while other may not.  ive not been to the board in a while now.  i havnt really been training since i have a new daughter to raise up.  recently ive been looking at the board and it seems that a lot of folks that used to post regarding training are not longer here.

The last time i was here was just after the changes were made to the board, and there seem to be a large influx of folks that didnt really train.

So my question is, what happened? Im not looking for the personal attacks and character assinations that had happend in the past, but it seemed like the threads had a little more substance.

where did every one go??

W Scott, the ongoing antics of a few members have chased many posters away to other boards where their opinions are not countered with unfounded ridicule, foul and vicious language, threats, etc. and the ongoing drama that exists between a handful of the posters still here.

At least that is my take on it. I have seen a momentary bit of improvement and I hope that is sustained. It will be a great day when the flamers and spoofers retreat to some place where their ongoing competition for the title of Drama Queen can be sucessfully pursued and return this board to intelligent discussions of the present and future of the German Shepherd Dog.

Regards,

Bob-O

wscott-  I think they are still around lurking but don't post much because of what Bob-O stated.  Unfortunately it's true that's what happend and it makes it tougher now for people like myself who are new and want to absorb what the other's had to offer.  Now we're left sifting through the crap in hopes of getting lucky on a good day and someone posts something intelligent. LOL  I think one way to bring them back is to start threads that revert back to training questions, behaviors of dogs and things along that line because most of the trouble makers are too stupid to join into that conversation anyways or too narrow minded to actually sit back and learn something.  Good to see you back though and congrats on the little baby girl.

Every other thread has come down to a few posters consistently trying to prove themselves to a bunch of other posters and it never seems to stop. Plus too many people here are being covered by outspoken people who know nothing at all. It's ridiculous.

What other boards? I'd like to have something to read that I can learn from,  without having to sift thru so much garbage.

leftbarrelslam-  Have you tried DDRLegends.com?  I kinda liked that site.  Has a lot of working line folks and good info.

wscott00, I remember you and have missed you on here. Even though I have only signed on for a year or so, I was a long time GSD person and lurker. You were one of a couple dozen who had something to offer. This site sadly has gone downhill for some of the reasons listed. It seems to be a playground for those who want to believe they have something to offer when they clearly don't and blatently disregard the standard as well as Oli's goals for this site. Self serving drama and those who want to re write the standard for their own use are abundant. I don't know why. I encourage the newbies to stay around, lurk if you must but stay and learn, there are still some who have much to offer. To those of you who have much to offer and have recused yourselves I encourage you to batten down the hatches and come back win this. I have too much respect for the our GSD's and for Oli ,to sit back and watch this site go down. Many of you have taken beatings from- how's a nice way to say- dim wits? I don't know. Try to overcome it. You are needed here. On my Christmas list is that the old timers will come back, start topics reticent of the "old days" and the other old timers will come back and comment on them. Many people still want to learn. Congratulations on your baby girl.

wscott00  It has indeed been a while... Welcome Back !!  and Congrats on your new addition that is so precious !!

Yes things here have become quite combative for whatever reasons... many of them the way I see it is that opinions vary and that clearly is NOT allowed or tolerated.    I think most people here do want to learn,  and do want to hear other peoples perspectives,  But that is often overshadowed by a few who would choose to "start a fight" instead of allowing a difference in opinon to be what it is...  Longing for the day when someone can post regarding a subject and NOT be stoned to death for thier comments....  I think alot of people are "Affraid" to post regarding subjects like training, breeding suggestions, kennel hints,  Temperaments,  or anything of the sort,  every word they write will be used against them or twisted into ones own agenda.   That is in MY opinion a BIG part of the problem....I too would like to be able to learn from those who care to teach,  I too would like to be able to offer my opinion on a thread without being crucified for it...  But we will see if tha day will come.

Truly Welcome Back,  and sure hope you will stay around,  You have been missed !!

You and Bob0  are two that I always watch for,  Your posts are NON combative, sensible, and Most informative !!!
