Hey Steve,

Glad your clarified that you aren't a Cowboy.

I was going to ask what your experience is with Beef Cattle other than going to the store and picking out a big thick T-bone steak.

In case you are wondering about my experience, I have raised beef, skinned beef, cut, packaged and cooked.

Any sport or just about any thing can be abusive if in the wrong hands.  Many people training dogs use abusive measures.

I'm sorry Steve, your video's you posted are nothing more than about 100+ rodeos lumped together for a woppin'  8 minutes of PETA crap with rare accidents.

You state this on your website ... sports are for willing participants ... ya think fish school up to be cought for that wonderful Sport Fishing Lic called "angling"? ?  Ya think the fox waits in line to be hunted down and mauled by 15 plus foxhound dogs.  Your picking and choosing and never been there, done that. If your sooo into working dogs and this and that how about this....

What about bucking bloodlines in the Broncs? Hummm you want to kill off a history of good bloodlines that were bred to be the best Broncs? Awe Hail to High Tide, Sippin Velvet, Man O’ War. It's the same as working dogs, only they buck. There IS NO strap like you spew, it's a powerful horse that has been bred to BUCK then later broke for ranch work or races.

You can thank the Race Horse breeders who have spend the past 60 years breeding the buck outa them, that's the only way it happened. But, I guess you wanna ban Race Horses too. Now because of all this PETA crap the Bronc Breeders and the Race Horse Breeders have come together to preserve this bloodline through self force. There is no politics in cowboys and rodeo ... all your doing is trying to push it in there, like everything else in America ... America is getting fed up with Politics ... your on the wrong side of the fence my friend. But I understand you well, Rodeo is banned in the UK maybe you should move there or maybe go back there.

FYI, the flank strap that you never mentioned correctly I want to correct you on, because I know you know nothing about Rodeos let along how to use tack. The flank strap is used lightly to make the horse kick higher, if it's tight and used like you mentioned the horse couldn't move or kick. You should really learn about what you preach before you bash and claim foul play. PETA depends on people like you.

Have you ever even "broke" a horse before? Ya know what cowboys do doncha .... ohhh never mind .. you would be the one to rig them with 20 pounds of equipment and the pelham bit. Good luck in your protests. I'll be on the other side of the fence.

Have you ever watched chicken/turkey house workers when they catch and load in that rig to head for the poultry plant? There

ooops sorry, I dunno why it did that but ... there is more cruelty in catching chickens and turkeys than in Rodeo's.

A horse show I attended decided to put on a demonstration of steer wrestling, though this was entirely an English riding horse show, featuring jumping and dressage.

By the time the cowboy fininshed wrestling the steer to the ground, it couldn't get back up again. They finally managed to prod it to its feet, while the crowd booed loudly, but the poor thing had been so badly hurt it could only spin in circles. It took them quite some time to get it out of the arena.

Don't talk to me about rodeo not being cruel! I watched some of those video clips, and it was obvious that a lot of material WAS taken at the same rodeo (the cowboys zapping the bucking horses with the prod, and the steers and calves being dragged through the mud.)

Why is this posted on the GSD database forum anyhows ... this should be where people like bickering about this stuff.

And I will talk to you about Rodeo's not being cruel. Now that the thread is here. Those video clips are just that, clips. Clips of the worst things happening compiled into 8 full minutes of hundreds of Rodeo's.

It seems your mind is pretty well made up on the subject, but I'd appreciate it if you'd take a look at these clips, which are the ones I referred to above:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50nf7Io52c0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7poZuhymtRo

You will see the rodeo is identified on the gate of the bucking chutes in the second clip, and in the first clip, where the steers and calves are being dragged through the mud, the announcer identifies the rodeo by name several times, and it's the same announcer throughout the clip.
