4pack

by 4pack on 30 November 2007 - 00:11

I'm not into dog shows and don't know enough about the breed to seriously pick apart a dog. I know what I do and don't personally like and that's about it. Could somebody point out the good and bad on my dog? The honest truth wont break my heart, so I want serious replies not candy coated, "he's pretty" or "that's the ugliest beast ever" answers.

Which Troll? Ha Ha I think he does look a bit like V Troll von der bösen Nachbarschaft look at his linebreeding!

Nice looking boy. Good color and pigment, nice bone, masculine head good ear set. I can't really comment on his pasterns. I don't consider myself "qualified", not a judge, but that is what I see. His back might be a little weak? looks like a sag, probably because he isn't officially stacked. I'd be willing to take him off your hands at any time:). Actually the more I look at him,the more I think he's butt ugly and you should get rid of him. Send him on over and I will relieve you of that poor critter.

4pack!!!!!!!!!!

To me he's perfect!

I loved your pics of the 1920's dog, and the other dog was identical!!!!!!!!!

Every dog should be just that cause it's the STANDARD!!!!!

How can we bring them back!!!!!

I'm going to a show in Dec. that is AKC conformation, I am going to Beef my dog up as
much as I can, his ribs won't be showing, I'm doing jog a dog with him he is 2 years old,
I know they will look at me & say Oh, working type, not show type......

And yes, it's weird going to a show with a dog that's put together well & not crippled,
and seeing the judge, pick the skinny anorexic dog over your's!!!

I am so pissed off right now talking about crippled anorexic dogs,
it ain't funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got to go, end of story!!!!!!!!!

And love him how You do..

I agree...! What happend to the german shepherd...? Angles of expo dogs are catastrofal...they even look like sick...! Not natural and not healthy...

Hey there, do you want to have a critique by comparing to the FCI standard?

Here it goes:

Expressive head, nice masculinity, strong pigment, nice pasterns. Good angulations in front (what I can see since the photo is not in the correct angle) and sufficient angulation in rear. Flat withers with a dip behind it (when he gaits, he probably falls on his forehand). Underchest somewhat short. Upper arm should be longer (but that too is hard to judge due to the position of the photographer). Short, steep croup. Very stretched.

The rest I can not evaluate. What is his height? Also,he needs to deepen out but that is age-related.  I love his beautiful head and pigment.
