On previous posts people have said that only Americans linebreed, I beg to differ just look at what is for sale and what is being bred you see a lot of line breeding. Does anyone know of new blood, I will make it easy lets start with WG working lines. Also I am a working dog fan, lets try and stick with dogs that produce strong dogs for Police or serious competition dogs. If people then would like to add czech or DDR then thats cool.........

Are you thinking of inbreeding? I believe linebreeding is a pretty common & accepted practice throughout much of the world.

Well inbreeding is mother to son(example) how far away is linebreeding to inbreeding........

Line breeding is 3-5generations. Try finding a dog any where that hasn't been line breed. It's about impossible to due.

Not impossible. Actually very common.

I agree with Don. I see tons of dogs with very little or no linebreeding.

Why would linebreeding be a bad thing? I agree with Xeus I see a great deal of linebreeding becoming more common at least lately with the ads I've seen. I always thought there were advantages to linebreeding if there were specific things you were trying to improve, or produce and also it was acceptable to linebreed just need to be careful what you are doing.
Just curious without hijacking Xeus's thread, why some of you do not like to see line breeding or would not line breed?

I don't have a problem with line breeding as long as those who are doing it know what they are doing. Inbreeding is another story, very easy to bring forward bad recessives.

Sue- So a 2-2 would be too close for comfort then?
