? to Oli re the Message Board - Page 1

Hi Oli,  thank you for the PDB and the work you do to keep it up.

I seem to be able to access the pedigrees fine and without a problem but lately ( last 2 months or so) when I access the message board it  ALWAYS ends up freezing my computer - usually sooner rather than later.  Has something changed in the coding because of the new larger advertisements?  I run an older system ( Win98) but normally have no problems accessing the web. This is the one spot I consistently have a problem other than the occassional extreme high end site that uses a ton of video and Java applications.

Just thought I'd ask on the odd chance some stray coding inserted itself into the message board side or comes attached to some of the new ads. It's to the point these days that it's so frustrating I'm about to stop visiting the board.

Just by the way - you may have no control over whose ads appear on the site if you use a ad service but I've noticed quite a few from the Bank of America.  They have a revenue sharing agreement with HSUS( Humane Society of the U.S.)  which is a hard core animal rights organization dedicated to eliminating pets so a lot of dog clubs have been pulling business from the Bank of America and telling them why - because of their relationship w/ HSUS. If you are able to say that you will not accept ads from them, I'm sure there will be other advertisers who will be attracted due to the volume of traffic on the board. Just a thought for your consideration.

I have noticed alot of background activity on the website as well.

There are those individuals who have the knowledge to use a site such as this to they're own ends.

A wise man would figure it out.

You should read all the sites informational material.
