Here's some GOOD news about police officers and a dog. Unfortunately for Blue, their efforts were in vain.
The three police officers did everything they could, rushing their patient across the city. But nothing could be done to save Blue.
With sirens blaring and lights flashing, two cruisers – one carrying the badly injured dog on a makeshift cardboard stretcher – raced to three animal clinics before finding a fourth that was able to treat the fatally injured German Shepherd-husky cross.

That clinic near Lawrence and Jane St.? We used to take our pets there when I was a kid. And I also spent many happy hours walking alongside the Humber River. But why that idiot owner didin't have his dog properly secured is beyond me... Weston Road is an EXTREMELY busy 4-lane wide road!

Thanks Sunsilver. For every bad story posted there are far more good ones that go unrecognized.

Another very nice human story. These cops went above & beyond. Good on them. Need more like them.
The flip side to this story comes from COPWATCH website...a cop throws a 9 yr old boy to the ground & handcuffs him for not wearing his bike helmet. Seems a little extreme to me.

ADL-sponsored Militarization of the police. They are training European Police now as well.

And to be fair, COPWATCH also has a Badge of honor. Those cops going above & beyond, Killed by Illegals or while protecting those they are sworn to serve.

NIce to see the compassion of these officers. I know many who would do the same. One of my terriers dug out of our fence about 5 years ago and the local police were actually out looking for him. He ended up coming home on his own but because they were so concerned I made them a huge platter of my best cookies! Small town, our officers only make 9 bucks an hour, drugs rampant, shootings, and yet they went above and beyond for my little brown boy. One officer spotted him in the middle of the night but couldn't catch him, tried for almost 30 minutes, I'll never forget that.

Thanks for posting this story, Sunsilver.

I like how even after something is posted about a cop doing something good, instead of all the cop bash that normally appears here, a certain somebody still feels the need to immediately complain about something else. That person just plain has a problem with the police and is looking to be a martyr.
If those cops had gotten into an accident getting that dog there, everyone would've jumped on that. Some of you just have no idea how difficult that job is, but it makes you feel good to sit back and judge those doing a job most of society can't. Very sad.
Good for these guys for trying to help this poor dog.

Buffy...as a former bouncer, Ive seen people at their worst.... Drunk, High, Jealous, enraged & sometimes armed. Not much different than how cops see them, only they have backup, tazer, clubs & guns.
It is a tough job, no doubt, no one disputes that. But Im critical of the ADL training, the militarization of the force-ie cops wearing Riot gear including gas masks & with Assault rifles in armoured cars etc or peaceful protestors...Its not protect & serve for the most part anymore for many of these depts.
I dont see much cop bashing here or elsewhere, lets keep it in persepective please. There are however 2 million hits on google for police brutality, and thats just whats reported. The internet is a great tool really. But of course, I like to hear thje good along with the bad. Because there is plenty of that, and much is not reported.
