I think he's a very nice looking dog.

Not many dogs can you see the pure unadulterated love in their eyes....this one you surely can.

Good looking dog, he looks like he's big. What does he weigh?

He weighs about 87 lbs.

Okay, I hope you want honest openness here.  Your Dog looks to me like a moderately high rated Top V dog that is a bit overfed (maybe somewhat more than a bit!).  Tailset could be just a small a touch lower but that is about the only thing I see from the photo that could be improved in his progeny, and this is so minor it's not an issue, unless one was using him for breeding and then it would be a point to consider compensating with the bitch unless he produces better tailsets than his own (which can happen sometimes). 

I agree that the dogs looks to be very loving and affectionate (also confident and peaceful).  You probably love this dog so much that you treat him like a king and dote on him quite a bit..  No wonder he looks so satisfied and happy. You probably give him the ideal home and life.  I am assuming from the look in his eyes that he has the normal desired GSD temperament and could have been trained in many roles including Schutzhund. 

This is a very worthy dog and you are fortunate to have such an attractive male so close to the standard.  Given that far less than 10% of male GSDs produced in the world ever look this good and have such good structure and proportions (probably about 3-5%) you are one of a select group to have such a nice looking GSD.  I'll bet he's a joy to live with.   Congratulations.
