You could make some out of various pieces of wood. leather, carpeting, or jute. Or here is a place to order the wood and leather:

I've never bought tracking artiles. I use ones I've accumulated at trials - they are the "official" ones - but otherwise I use anything I find. Usually scrap pieces of leather, all shapes/sizes - I cut them down if need be - carpet pieces - wood pieces from under some carpentry project - pieces of PVC, key-chains, metal things like medals, chains, scrap metal from some metal-working project :). I cut them down or fold/glue - whatever. Film canisters with treats inside is a nice "surprise article" - I also use sardine cans as articles, open/reward usually at the end (used as last article). Broken broom - cut up the handle into trial-sized dowel articles (yep these are often used as trial articles). Small stuffed toys such as beanie babies or - go to salvation army and get small toys as articles. Trial will be carpet, leather, wood - but in training use plastic and metal too.

Maybe Dawn is hosting a national event and has to have regulation articles for 80 competitors. Did you ever think of that ??? Cant you think for yourself??
The likelyhood of her hosting a national trial is slim, but do you have to have the attitude?????

D. Corleone and others,
Sorry that I am not an expert, but that is why I asked this. I just want to have fun and train with the dog.
If it makes people feel good to make fun of others, then this world is in alot of trouble. I can see why alot of people quit posting.
Best Regards, and a happy life to you and your dogs!

I believe that if you go back and read my post, it was not directed to you. I was actually sticking up for you. But if that is the way people are going to go through life, barely reading what is in front of them, then the world is in alot of trouble.

Dawn, only one here was not nice.
Have fun training, I love to track, I just wish I wasn't gone at work all daylight hours right now.

Don C.
I apologize!!
I am looking for articles that would be already made. The reason for this, I am up at 3:00am to get to work by 6:00 am.(Work in a hospital.) When I get home, I do not have alot of time. I want to train, (not much outside light is left now!) wait about 1 1/2 hours to feed the dog, then myself, and pass out and go to bed!

Bill Forbes from www.fullgripgear.com will send you some killer leather tracking articles cut to regulation size if you want them say for a big trial or something, I think he charges $.50 each
But the cheap way is to go to Goodwill or something and buy a leather belt, they are about the right width and then just cut them to the 4 inches or whatever they are supposed to be. Or we have also gone to our boot repair shop and he has given us scaps of leather as well.
You can go to a carpet store and they will usually GIVE you a 2 foot piece of carpet reminent for free, berber is my favorite and you cut those easily.
Wood is a bit more difficult if you do not have a saw, but if you do, you can use pieces of wood floor samples as well. Again you can get these usually for free from flooring companies!!! Also they can give you pieces of vinyl too.
Best of luck.
