What would cause a solid black dog to have white toe nails. I have never seen that before and I am curious. Would this dog produce pale colors in offspring?

fm----I recognize that look.......appears to be dried, caked on mud to me. i deal with this most mornings after a trip to the fields. (LOL)

those are not white. they are horn. while not exactly desireable, black would be better, they are acceptable.

I think it's mud also, you can see where it is black at the base of the nails on his back feet. Pretty boy and beautiful coat!

It doesn't look like dried mudd to me. Wouldn't that be an indication of poor pigment even though the dog is black, if so would the dog itself produce paling pigment in it's offspring. Not that up on genectic's, What would cause this?

If you cut the nail back every month the nail will usually come back in eventially black.....I am looking at my Tiekerhook. , Busecker Schloss girl and her nails are white on ends.....but you can see the dark they need clipping in the worst way, so I think I will stop this and clip them ....

his nails are black - check out the black tips - they are just dirty/grey.

If you'll look at his nose at the line of dirt and then at his nails you will notice they are the same color...looks like he likes to play in the dirt to me =)

I agree with Molly, it looks like mud caked up on the nails. As for the wording, why are we always picking apart ads that don't use the wording we like. Yes adoption is the wrong word to use, but I think that most of us know that the seller meant Wolf is for sale for $1,500.00. Adoption does not always mean free or cheap!! Actually I think he is a very nice pup, looks healthy and well kept.

Debbie
