This is a male who is soon turning 2 years old, and I would like to have a comment on him.

Good color and pigment. Nice head with sufficient stop. Forearm angulation could be a touch better. Dip in the topline. Lay of croup appears correct but it a little short. Id like to see him stacked on level ground and with his mouth open. Its presents a better overall picture. As it is, his head looks a bit small to me. Judging on the photo alone, hes a good male of good quality. Id be interested in seeing him 12 months down the line.

I agree with everything that artillery said. Have you seen him gaiting? I thing the fact that his forearm is rather steep will cause him to short-step in front in the gaiting. It could also cause him to lift in front if he has more angulation in the rear than he does in the front. These are rather picky comments as overall he appears to be a very nice male. If you plan to show him the gaiting will probably cost him a few places. But as the Germans (hopefully) judge the whole dog it will not be as important as if you were to show in the AKC ring.

I agree with everyone here and the only thing I see is his short muzzle. I know this is a trait of the modern West-German show-line dog though. If all of his teeth are present and in good form, then it is okay. That is typically the only problem that a short muzzle will cause. I do like the neck set and the head carriage.
I also agree that different pictures may "improve" his appearance somewhat. Overall, I like him.
